The PA along with new rifle, plans to standardise Under Barrel Grenade Launchers into the section level. To achieve this a number of foreign manufacturers have come forward with domestic production on the cards.

A contract with the new rifle or rifles can be expected, near or after.

Also optics are on the cards for comprehensive new personal weapon.

Nice.
Are there any plans for deploying recon drones up to company level?

When on earth we are going to hear about Rifle trial winner ? Also are there chances that we may opt for two rifle series specially if they allow us to export them also ????

PA should also focus on 12 Bore Grenade ... High explosives can kill multiple troops , can cripple trucks or light carriers

This 12 Gauge Shot Explosive can be used as a small grenade through under barrel shot gun attachment in any Assault Rifle. In present case CZ Bren 806 (Shot listed for PA). It will be very effective in CQB. Not much science for POF, it will lot easier compare to develop Grenade Launcher.

That's good news for the infantry.
Can u shed some light on who are the contenders for UBGL? Is it related to the Assault rifle contract?

There is a GOOD chance the decision could come quickly or take a bit of time. The Navy and Air Force have got involved, with the Para's involved. Does make complicated, but I have hope that it will be completed in due time.

A number of companies are involved, due to the sensitive nature of the negotiations. Not at liberty to disclose.

Sir, bureaucracy and red tapism are the biggest enemies of advancement. The forces need to learn how to be nimble, agile, fast moving. I would say the involving of so many parties in itself is a problem. A lot of time and effort has already been spent in selecting a weapon for the Army. Time, above all other things, should be highly valued. If an appropriate weapon has been found, they should go ahead and start production. The advantage is in the learning of new manufacturing processes, tools, and techniques. Once these have been mastered, capability should be increased to cater for requirements of other forces as well. A 'one design fits all', 'pinpoint all requirements up front' approach always leads to costly overruns and failed projects. Praying for the best for our armed forces. May Allah guide them in making the best decisions that benefit Islam and Muslims. Aaameen.
