The Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) administration on Friday said there is a ban on holding rallies and staging protests in the capital city.

The comment comes shortly after former prime minister Imran Khan announced the rally for his chief of staff Shahbaz Gill on August 20 (tomorrow) in the capital.

According to the orders, more than five persons cannot assemble together in one place.

The administration has strictly warned the people to follow the orders, otherwise they will be penalized according to the law.

This ban has been placed since July 23 last month.

Islamabad administration/police/neutrals could violate the constitutional basic human right of a political prisoner and physically abuse him within Islamabad's limits. Protest against the incident is not allowed. Is it in your own book of ethics/moral principles?

Where was this letter when TLP was enjoying the rally in the capital?
Or it was in the making after IK announced the rally/protest?

Islamabad police and the district admin has been exposed so so bad in this whole fiasco.

Jitni in ki izzat bani thi in the past few years, Hamza Shafqaat, SSP Ops Mustafa, previous DIG, all that effort down the drain in a month.

Islamabad Police is now no different than the thugs of Punjab police, and neither is the admin.

Sec. 144 is a well-known and much-abused legacy from British India times.

what reminder its not free country and protests are allowed by constitution ? batti bana le ICT police or rana bandri
If everyone start doing protest, then no nation will progress like this.

That being said, that does violate the freedom of speech/expression. However, the protest never seems to yield any result. Rather, it is just empty noises that is eventually ignored.

Election is best way to rage and respond. Or take over the government and general homes. Protest destroys nation but protest in government and general homes destroy them only. And it is effective move, Alhamdulillah. 👍

Hence, the best strategy for the government is to keep them protesting. If they try and stop it or use haevy handedness, a protest which might get 2 hours of coverage would get blown out of proportion.

Same with Shahbaz Gill's statement. If he hadn't been arrested, I can guarantee you no one would have even heard what he said. It would have come in the third page of a newspaper maybe. Heck, even I turn off the channel if SG is speaking, or any one for that matter.

Same is the case with so so many things. Such as the 18 year old tweeting against the heli crash. If they don't prop the issue up themselves, no one would have even noticed it.

This is PR 101, and these guys are failing at it miserably. Every move is back firing for them.

Just look at the kind of hero they have made out of Imran Riaz Khan. He was getting around 300k views on a video before his arrest and all the heavy tactics, now he gets a million plus.

why dont punjab government block all roads towards islamabad with containers? just cut islamabad from rest of the country!

Rashid Minhas ka Nishan e Haider kab wapis ley rehey hain hum phir?

I lost hope with this country. This is getting beyond ridiculous. The "neutrals" desperately want a Sri Lanka repeat it seems!
