IAF gets set to kick-off MAFI | Sakal Times
PUNE: The Indian Air Force (IAF) is likely to conduct a survey of the Lohegaon Airport soon before it kicks off its ambitious Modernisation of Airfield Infrastructure (MAFI) project at the Airport.
Local IAF authorities had a meeting with Mahratta Chamber of Commerce, Industries and Agriculture (MCCIA) functionaries last week.
We had a meeting with Air Force officials and requested the Air Officer Commanding (AOC) to allow simultaneous operations of air force and civil flights for most parts of the day during this period, said Air Marshal, (Retd) BN Gokhale, adding that the MCCIA is in talks with the IAF to ensure smooth operations of flights during MAFI work.
The MAFI project involves the upgrade of 30 Air Force bases in the country.
