The Hyundai Elevate concept has made its debut at the 2019 Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas. In a disaster, such an earthquake or tsunami, first responders are only able to get to the edge of the debris field using conventional cars and trucks, with the rest of journey completed on foot. The Elevate concept, dubbed an "ultimate mobility vehicle", is designed to get past this limitation, and traverse ground even the most capable four-wheel drive would fail at.

In 'walking' mode, the Elevate's legs have five degrees of freedom, can imitate the walking gate of mammals or reptiles, and can walk in all directions.Hyundai says the concept can climb over a 1.5m-high wall or step over a 1.5m-wide gap, while also keeping its body and passengers completely level while doing so.When the Elevate is engaged in driving mode, the legs are folded up and locked in place, and the car is driven by wheel hub motors.

The Elevate uses a modular EV platform and can be fitted with different bodies for various needs and situations. In one alternative scenario, Hyundai sees the Elevate operating as the ultimate wheelchair-friendly taxi.

@jamahir knows what you are on about? LOL

@Hamartia Antidote u played this game buddy?

I’d have to look closer at the feet as the problem is they may sink into soft ground from the weight of the machine vs a battleMech which disperses the weight.

The planets they fight on mostly have much less than Earth Gravity :D

As impressive as their gatling guns may look like, their real potency is behind them, hidden in this picture. The bane of every air unit... ;) @Zibago

Back in the 1990’s MechWarrior.
Damn thing always overheating just as things are getting good.

Ah ok, coz this is concept art of the "Goliath" from starcraft.

It was a heavy anti-air platform that could also engage ground units. Very much designed with mechwarrior in mind I would say yeah.

Since it was an RTS, there were no specific overheating or stuff like that...you made a unit and it was part of your army "as is" till it gets destroyed (RTS top down concept). It had one upgrade which extended its (already powerful) anti air range.

Here are a bunch in action against Protoss Carrier formation at the end (around 37 - 38 minute mark):

A bunch of these along with some scv,s vs a battlecruiser and you are looking at a higher kill chance if same amount of resources are spent :D
Ofcourse that would require heavy micro but thats what it makes it fun :D

Throw in the combo a single sniper and you got yourself a battlecruiser,s hit squad

.
So the round wheel can become a half-wheel ??

Nice concept.

@Levina @RealNapster @Bilal9 @Hamartia Antidote

It is a concept about ten years away from being practical and marketable. Won't have very many takers today other than special mission usage for Hazardous missions.

And the rear tail lights have been used on the Kia soul for the last five years or so.
