srinagar, Aug 10: Firebrand separatist leader and Dukhtaran-e-Millat chief Asiya Andrabi is often among the first to pay tributes to militants killed in gun battles and glorifies their valour, but her own son is studying abroad.
Asiya's elder son Mohammed Bin Qasim is in Malaysia where he is pursuing Bachelors of Information Technology
at Islamic University of Malaysia.

On August 7, when Qasim was "chilling around with his friends in Malaysia" and Facebook posts were highlighting the same, back home Pulwama was on the boil, while his mother was busy glorifying youth who join militant ranks in Kashmir and get killed.

On the fateful day Asiya paid glowing tributes to Lashker-e-Taiba (LeT) militant Mohammad Afzal Shah alias Talib a resident of Kakapora. Shah was killed a gun battle.
Come any killing of militant, Asiya never misses to issue handout to pay glowing tributes to the departed souls.

In a bid to indoctrinate more and more youth towards militancy, her statements often sound similar. "The slain militant who was fighting achieved martyrdom for the sake of Almighty. The militants gave a tough fight to a huge contingent of army and police," she says.
The same she observed for militant killed in Pulwama whose death triggered massive protests in south Kashmir.

The slain militant, was a post graduate in Physical Education, but went into hiding in 2013 and joined the Lashkar cadres. It was the same time around when Asiya sent her son abroad for specialized-modern education.

Even as the separatist leaders glorify militancy to entice youth towards gun culture, their own children often enjoy all comforts of life.

Take the case of pro Pakistan hawk Syed Ali Geelani. He must have led hundreds of funeral prayers of militants killed in the past 23 years of conflict, but none of his own children or grandchildren is into separatist politics or militancy. "For that matter his grandchildren study at leading Christian missionary schools, though he often wants other children to follow the path of Islamic teachings," said a senior police official, adding that "people need to realize this bitter reality of separatist politics."

It is said Geelani called off the 2010 street protests only because his grandchildren were complaining that their career was at stake due to hartals.
"Even thought the separatists have often been criticized for their doublespeak, they continue to make fool of people of Kashmir," said a social activist.

Hypocrisy of these separatists leaders in Kashmir knows no bound. They are indoctrinating other's kids to pick up arms while their own kids are enjoying their lives in foreign countries.

They are all our pets @ranjeet

Pets of the Indian state.

They serve a purpose and that is why they are still around.

Geelani = old faithful pet

Yaseen = young pet groomed to take place when old pet passes

Asia = pet to represent better half of populace and their grievances, with suitably radical persona

Its the young ones who are unknown and take up the gun without the master knowing, they are the ones who get put down.

Nothing new , even sons of JuD chief are far far away from his father's social service activities. They know the perils of holding guns by far outweighs any good comming out of it . They just won't risk their own progeny for the goal which they know within heart of their hearts would never be achieved. Kashmir became all the more lost cause the day India arrived on world's nuclear horizon. Now no International power could ever think of meddling in Kashmir. Middle east nations knows that punishment comming their way would be far greater than rewards they can gift to Pakistan.

It was a two edged sword to be honest.

With us going nuclear, we also lost the chance of retaking Pakistani occupied Kashmir.

Now it would take US and Chinese intervention were Pakistan to go rogue, for us to get a foot in the door. Otherwise it will be status quo and pinpricks and macchar bites for the foreseeable future.

The author appears to have taken thing literally.

This is not how the real world works ! Who would know this more than Indian & Pakistanis.

Dont we have ' patriotic' leaders whose progeny study & live abroad ??

BTW, whats wrong in that ? Why should I subscribe to the same views of my Dad ?

I guess we are happy with status quo. "Reataking ” is wrong word to use here as it was not ours when in 1947 to begin with.

Incase of Pakistan going rouge, which is very likely. We are not left with many options. Use them before you loose them.

These pin pricks would have very reduced scope if and when we bring back POTA with enhanced internal monitoring and better policing. ADHAR and various other surveillance schemes are just the step in right direction .

SC allows govt to link Aadhaar card with PDS and LPG subsidies - The Times of India

Even linking with PDS and LPG would go long way in monitoring. There was program of linking 14 or so different government organisations to hive for any data relating to terrorism. Don't know it's current status, whether it is still offline or already in service.

Lol look at her son's name

Should be beaten by oil drenched lathi.

Do our patriotic leaders attend funeral en masses of every sedating terrorists or do they extort others other than their own kith and kins to take to guns against the state. ?? And don't you think it's strange that none , not a single one of separatists sons take to guns.

You just can't draw parallel between separatists and normal leaders. It's akin to drawing parallel between law & order to anarchy. Next what would you suggest , if police fires on rioting mob then it's fair that mob fires back on police. Absurd at best !!

Lol look at her son's name

They all are wana be Arab.

.
They're Separatists, they're supposed to be a puppet and Hypocrite. These poor kids who are dying will never realize how they are wasting their precious life for someone who's making money out of them

. .
Article is unfair. What if her son doesn't agree with her views on separatism? Is she expected to force him to take up arms? You evil Yindoos always find a way to insult the strong sher hearted Kashmiri separatists :P

So much inferiority complex kashmiris are much better than arabs.

. . .
Separatism and J&K is an industry.

There are no ideologies involved. One generation earns , the next enjoys.
Try executing a project in Kashmir. One, you get more than 3 times the price than other states. Two, you need to pay the separatists money to execute the project. They take the money and stash it away. 'Separatists' are more than happy when government projects get announced. Thye know private chaps who execute the projects will soon pay them off. They are economically better off on this side :P Anybody who does business in that State knows this. Business as usual.
