Well its a big news for us. A group of Eleven Mechanical Engineers from E&ME College are participating in the upcoming Eco-Shell Marathon in July 2010. Pak-Wheelers (Team’s Name) are making Pakistan’s First ever hybrid car. The Event will feature around 100 teams from all over Asia competing for the top spot. We all know what the winning criteria is don’t we? Well for those of you who don’t know its that the team which gets the best mileage in a litre of fuel wins. Their Design is complete, but the body is left. Its a very realistic idea so best of luck guys. Make us all proud.

“For some teams its a car, for some teams is a project but for us its an ideology, an ideology to prove that Pakistan can be constructive.”

Im not the Only Genius from Pakistan!!:woot::woot:

Great job guys!!:tup::tup::tup:

I saw on news few months back at geo that 2 fourteen year old kids developed KERS( Kinetic Energy Recovery System) usually found on F1 cars to store energy produced from breaking but since it was a good thing it cudn't touch the heart of GEO's editors and ended up being a 15 min intro of those genius guys.

This car will never see production no matter what; I hate to say this but I can bet my life on this bitter reality. Sooner or later the team members would have to leave the country in search of better professional opportunities abroad. There is simply no need or place for such 'brains' in Pakistan.

If you "hate to say it" then don't say it. Why are you SO negative? I can understand if personal experience has something to do with it, but why get everyone else down? Everyone was supportive and positive until your post above... please... give the rest of the world a break.

unfortunately what Qsaark said is right TechLahore

Being a naysayer is the easiest thing to do. It doesn't matter if what he said turns out to be right or not. If you have a choice, would you say a word of support to a great group of nationalistic Pakistanis who are actually working hard to achieve something meaningful, or would you paint a picture of doom and gloom before them? If you visualize defeat, you will always be handed defeat.

Dude, the Car-Mafia does not let your government (even Musharraf had to comply with their demands) import the second hand cars which are badly needed by the middle class, how on earth would it (car-mafia) as well as Patrol and CNG-Mafia let this hybrid car go into production? I am not negative, only telling about the ground realities.
