Humour or racism?

The Urdu poet is ridiculing Pashtuns on PTV, the mushaira was aired five days ago. He is calling them uncouth and dumb, smugglers, "bey-sura", unclean and stinky, Naswari etc. May be i have no sense of humour or i am not familiar with depth of poetry. So help me in this regard, is it humour or racism?

Of course this is racism at its height. I wonder how this insult of a whole race was allowed to air on our national TV channel. It couldn't have been possible unless the program executive and producer also belonged to the same faith as of the poet (Jawad Hassan Jawad). By appearance he looks like belonging to Hazaras or Parachinaris... at least his name (Jawad Hassan Jawad) indicates he belongs to a certain sect in Pakistan which hates Pashtoons from the core of their hearts for them being 'Wahabis and Deobandis' and 'Taliban' etc.

Maybe you know that since the last decade after the Taliban factor active in Parachinar and other parts of Pakistan, hundreds of 'jokes' have been circulated through short message service via mobile phones making fun of 'Pathans'.

Ordinary folks cannot see the stratum of these things, but a well informed person like me can.

In the guise of humour, it's actually a display of hatred for Pathan Wahabis.. making fun of one of the trades certain pathan tribes have adopted which many other races in the world have also dealt in. And making fun of using niswar as if others don't use drugs and kachi sharab.

I am Urdu speaking (Muhajir community) but I stand by Pashtoons in this case against filthy racists.

I doubt that...only a Punjabi would pronounce smuggling as "sa-muggling". The only information that is available to me about him is that he is professor of Urdu at ICB (Islamabad College for Boys). Any way the poetry is not even funny at all if its his attempt at humour.

Racism is bad but it goes both ways, Pushtuns are known to call Urdu Speakers as weak, dark and Hindus.

from accent he does sound that , but i think its light and strong sarcasm .. i have pathan friend make similar jokes about Pashtoons ..

His accent is not of a Pashtun but of a Punjabi.......the part where he sound Pashtun is actually his imitation of Pashtun accent.
