At the Huawei Full Connect Conference held in September, Huawei’s rotating chairman, Xu Zhijun, said that Huawei’s smartphone business is indeed facing great challenges, and Huawei’s 5G mobile phones are now difficult to buy. However, he emphasized that Huawei will not give up its mobile phone business, nor will it sell it. He further claims that the company is working hard to get the mobile phone business back on track in due course. He said, “it may take a few years to work hard to allow users to buy Huawei 5G mobile phones“.

Today, popular Weibo leakster, @ChanganDigitalKing, Huawei will exclusively use the 4G version of the Qualcomm Snapdragon 898 chip. Prior to this, there were reports that Huawei Mate 50 engineering model was testing the Snapdragon 898 chip.
The flagship Qualcomm Snapdragon 898 SoC will use Samsung’s 4nm manufacturing process. This chip will use a three-cluster CPU design. The CPU specifications are: 1 x 3.0GHz Cortex X2 super large core + 3 x 2.5GHz Cortex A78 large core + 4 x 1.79GHz Cortex A55 small core.

However, the Chinese manufacturer will not unveil the Huawei Mate 50 this year. The rumor regarding this device claims that this flagship smartphone will arrive in the first quarter of next year. This is the earliest that this device could launch. If this smartphone is to launch in Q1 2022, then, it should arrive in March.

It should be noted that the main technology of the core filter in the 5G radio frequency chip comes from the United States. This is exactly why Huawei can not make its own 5G processors without the U.S. With the U.S. ban in place, Huawei will have to cope with the use of 4G chips only.

Furthermore, there are reports that Huawei has completely exhausted its Kirin chip inventory. However, there will be a new smartphone with the Kirin 9000 4G. Judging from the current case, most of its smartphones in the first half of next year will use Qualcomm processors. Of course, the company has no new chips thus it will use a new strategy. The company will improve the performance and experience of mobile phones with software. Basically, it will focus on extending the lifespan of the smartphone, and user time.

Huaweis smartphone business is on life support at this point and has been relegated to an afterthought.

CN is still like Ah Q, they bully the weaker but bowing down to the superior (US), but in the end, US will still execute CN for some reasons

------------------------
The story traces the "adventures" of Ah Q, a man from the rural peasant class with little education and no definite occupation. Ah Q is famous for "spiritual victories", Lu Xun's euphemism for self-talk and self-deception even when faced with extreme defeat or humiliation. Ah Q is a bully to the less fortunate but fearful of those who are above him in rank, strength, or power. He persuades himself mentally that he is spiritually "superior" to his oppressors even as he succumbs to their tyranny and suppression. Lu Xun exposes Ah Q's extreme faults as symptomatic of the Chinese national character of his time. The ending of the piece is equally poignant and satirical.

So US have come down from her high horse to do Business with Huawei and China again.

. .
Read the title again. It says 4G.

4G is still the king. 5G is a mirage.

But the point is not if it was 4G or 5G.

The point to note is that US has comedown from her horse to do Business with Huawei and China again.

You simple cannot ignore China.

You're misunderstanding the purpose and nature of the tech transfer bans on Huawei and Hisilicon, and the purpose of allowing Qualcom a licence to supply older 4g SOCs to Huawei. This talk of high horses is insipid and misses the point.

Qualcomm 4G was excluded from Trump's ban.

LOL US has not even banned an app like Tik Tok. Enough said. US is all bluster with no action. US is a paper tiger.
Qualcomm 4G was excluded from Trump's ban.

And why? Because 4G is what rules the world. 5G is just a costly Tech demo that no one wants.

True, US just want to make CN keep bowing down to US and do what US tell CN to do. US don't wanna destroy CN :p:

.
That means US is lying again? They claim the ban is becos Huawei is spying...

You mean 4G cannot spy but 5G chips suddenly can? Make up your mind. Liar USA...

China imported $380 billion of semi conductors in 2020, and a large portion of that sales revenue would be generated by US firms throughout the supply chains from design to foundry etc. It's projected to continue growing for the foreseeable future.

The US is being very targeted about its trade bans but it is good business to continue supplying China with semiconductors but on it's own terms; China has no choice but to accept those terms. The US controls the chokepoints, the OP makes that quite clear. The guy earlier in the thread seems to have missed the fact that the US has not slowed down overall sales of semiconductors to CHina, just specific bad actors such as Huawei.

True, its juts like a Loan shark never want to kill his borrowers bcs if the borrowers are dead, then the loan shark cant make money, too.

US wants CN keep staying alive as long as CN dont try to make their own chips , so US can keep selling chips and make money from CN market
