Huawei releases Atlas 900, The World’s Fastest AI Training Cluster

I understand that some China hater in this thread just simply cannot accept the fact that Huawei is doing WELL even under such strong hit from America.

Just take a look at Huawei's gross margin by business divisions. From top to down: Huawei Operator Business, Huawei Enterprise Business, Huawei Consumer Business, and Huawei as a whole.

I do believe that China will win this race in the long term. Every problem currently caused by American sanctions are temporarily. China needs time - apart from that, the Chinese have everything to build a new operating system for mobile phones.
Competition is good. In the future, we'll be able to decide between Chinese and American systems.

.
I am trying to present the facts here, when someone boasted something about Huawei.

Do you have any problems with the actual facts?

Also, this particular piece was about judging the real situation that Huawei finds itself in, right now that is.
Facts??? lol... You are still a cheerleader, and a pathetic one...as india has nothing in whatever you blablabla so much about...

.
Huawei said even if google bans its softwares after the 90 days exemption (to middle of September), Huawei will still launch its Mate30. Isn't that enough information for your?
Hk is all about ideology. Trade with China is all about money. Ideology is nothing in front of money. Believe me. No other country will follow US to cut the business relationship with China. European countries can not even follow US on Iran trading ban. China is one hundred times more important than Iran. Germany, Japan, S.Korea, Australia, their biggest business partner is China, not US.

Your logic is all based on China VS world. Which will never happen in the real world. Because US doesn't have the hard power and soft power to influence other countries. It is an impossible task for US.

You overrate US power and underestimate China's bargain chip in the same time. As you said "It is very very hard to replace US technology." And very very easy to replce China's rare earth(within a year as you said) and market(which is actually bigger market than US for both cheap and luxury goods). CIA desperately wanted to steal China's rare earth materials refining technologies and they made plans for 10 years. Unfortunately all CIA spies in China were arrested in 2012. Their plan failed. I guess you never heard this story.

Why can't you people for once accept the FACTS?

  1. You have been proven WRONG today itself!
Huawei just released the Mate 30 and NO! It doesn't have the Hongmeng on it!
It comes with the Android Open Source Project installed over it with no GMS!

  2. Ideology and Money are never totally separate. Western countries were selling a lot of military stuff to China in the 80s, which came to a halt due to Tianenmen.
The western countries are composed of many people with very different interests and many of whom are also ideological. Western Democracy and Liberalism are big, and a Tianenmen like event will certainly invite sanctions.
  3. Firstly, American sanctions have totally killed any European contact with the Iranians because their companies have shied away from any contact with Iran.
Then Iran is a different deal altogether.
  4. It's already getting China vs Many many countries. And more missteps from China will make it even more like that. America has incredible soft power.
  5. This rare earths thing is total bollocks.
In fact, most of the technology of processing rare earths in China actually came from the US, when the Chinese bought complete plants along with the tech in the US when China/US relations were good in the 2000s.

The real affect will come in only 1-2 years because:
  1. Huawei has stockpiled atleast 1 year worth of supplies.
  2. Huawei still has license to all the latest generation of software and CPU/architecture license.
  3. The sanctions actually came just recently, and in telecom contracts are decided years before.

Facts??? lol... You are still a cheerleader, and a pathetic one...as india has nothing in whatever you blablabla so much about...

This is a typical form of ad hominem.

If you so disagree with the facts and arguments that I presented, than counter them. Why involve in unnecessary mudslinging and name calling?

Just to emphasize this AGAIN:

Mate 30 DOESN'T come with Hongmong, but with an Android Open Source Project (AOSP) without GMS (Google Mobile Services)

When are you going to answer me about your statement of China is same level as India who obey US sanction not to import Iran oil? Who can trust your words? Nobody, you are just a sourgraped come here to twist words. I can see jeaously written all over your face. Sour over India lacking far behind China. It will take India a thousand years to surpass China in technology and innovation. :enjoy:

Interesting. That means alot of business will be taken away from someone.

It is not worth my time to debate with a cheerleader... I don't know if you represent the general mentality of indians... No one goes such an extent to defend or attack something which is none of their business...

I posted a statement by an Iranian Minister himself.

Is that not allowed to do?

Yes, China imports some oil from Iran still. I have accepted, happy?

Also, its not jealousy.
It's concern.
A person that looks at the reality and faces it, should be welcomed, not ignored.

That's not what u say. Iranian minister only say China stopped import for the time being and never say China will never import due to US sanction and cowardice. While you brag China and India is same level. Afraid of US economic might and succumb to US sanction. And as proven now. Who is the coward and who is the stronger one?

Also, its not jealousy.
It's concern.
A person that looks at the reality and faces it, should be welcomed, not ignored.
Thanks for your concern. Pls do check out the link I provided and face up the reality of Huawei no problem bypass US sanction. GMS still works perfectly fine on Huawei mate 30 pro. All you need to do is spend a little bit of time to setup once which the most cost you 30mins. This means Huawei mate 30 pro still can access to 2.7million apps available for Android user.

I don't see how is a big issue since Android is a open source OS. The one need to face up reality is you that Huawei will still continue to do well with superior hardware. While India even given another 20years will have nothing to match what Huawei hardware and software archieve currently.

That just a disingenious non-sequitur and wish you keep on pushing on the back of the same old onesided spins of ambiguous phrasing, words taken out of context, missleading paraphrasing, false quotes and simply wrong claims, you "just stating facts" trolls have been have been boring us with along with the U.S. regime mouthpieces you keep parroting for the past years, even as much for as to deny the very existince of the O.S..

Claiming Hongmeng is not for smarphones is just like claiming Linux is not for tablets. From a purely technical standpoint the entire statement makes no sense because its completely ambiguous. While both can be truely stated in a very specific context at a very specific time, its simply not a blanket statement truth. It can be just as much be wrong or meaningless in countless others. It works for PR because everyone usually understands from context or doesnt care about anything but implications for themself. But thats completely unrelated to the emotional rant against China you keep pushing, selectively picking pieces like that, ripping them out of context and turning them to fit your narrative rather than the picture they belong to.

IOT is just a buzzword for connected devices including desktop PCs, notebooks, tablets, smartphones and everything else that Android has ever ran on. There is no technological
dichotomy as you imply unless you personally assume one for the sake of illustration or argument, be it constructive or unconstructive like yours, or really just start making up your own definitions.

Announcing or releasing a phone with Android on the market does rule out the option to publish it with another OS or even diminish the very capability. Same for "not" excplicity talking about releasing a specific phone with another OS. Its just uninformed or dishonest nonsense.

The strategic and economic decission to stick to low risk, low overhead and low invest solutions as long as the options are viable does not imply the OS itself is "not ready", not at all. Just more uninformed or dishonest nonsense.

Thats all just your emotions speaking to draw a picture that fits your personal agenda against China.

Ideology and Money are never totally separate. Western countries were selling a lot of military stuff to China in the 80s, which came to a halt due to Tianenmen.

The western countries are composed of many people with very different interests and many of whom are also ideological.
Thats just hollow phrases and sound bits to write your hopes for conflict between China and a non-Indian country on the wall.

Ideology and Money are never fully connected. Eastern countries are composed of many people with very different interests and many of whom are also ideological. So what?

Western Democracy and Liberalism are big and a Tianenmen like event will certainly invite sanctions.
That's not a fact. Thats just your vapid opinion and hope.

Firstly, American sanctions have totally killed any European contact with the Iranians because their companies have shied away from any contact with Iran.
Thats not a fact. Thats simply false and just gross uneducated or dishonest exaggeration and wishful thinking.

Then Iran is a different deal altogether.
Thats at best a phrase like "tomorrow is another day" that has no relevance to anything and at worst not a fact and just your opinion.

It's already getting China vs Many many countries. And more missteps from China will make it even more like that. America has incredible soft power.
That's just an oversimplified onesided view you hold or pretend to hold just for the sake of pushing your emotional agenda against China. Another view on the same situation can be that it has already become multiple countries including China, Russia and Iran vs the U.S. regime and the U.S. regime isgetting incredibly desperate to sustain their crumbling power gap. And more missteps from the U.S. regime will make it even more likely for the U.S. economy to fall into a recession. America is in an incredibly fricle state.

Its easy pump out and drop these blanket statements that just reflect you opinions and believes. Making an argument or point is something different.

  1. This rare earths thing is total bollocks.
In fact, most of the technology of processing rare earths in China actually came from the US, when the Chinese bought complete plants along with the tech in the US when China/US relations were good in the 2000s.
Not facts again. Thats just an uneducated opinion you hold and an unsubstantiated as vague as ever claim.

Not a fact again. "the real affect" is a completely hollow statement that tries to strongly imply and excuse the implication of another "China will collapse soon" doomsday scenario you wish for without binding yourself to as much as a prediction that could be measured up with reality. None of the points you list up actually imply or a quintesential to any positive or negatuve outcome. Huawei actually forcasted by that time the sanction regime will have been overcome and the bottom line normalize again.

As usual your selfproclaimed "facts, reality and arguments" are just the same old pile of emotional ranting, bigotted opinions, held together selective reporting, desperate spins, wishfull dreaming, delusional nonsense and ignorant and plain wrong claims, with barely any irrelevant trivia and meaningless phrases to hide them behind.

Keep importing of Iranian oil plus 400 billion investment into Iranian oil industry. Only China could do it while US threatened other countries who is willing to keep importing oil from Iran shall face sanctions. India, Turkey have no choice but to comply because they are afraid. Only China and Russia can practice true independent policies, that's the reality. If anyone earlier on were saying China is just like India who has to stop importing too i would have laughed straight in his face.

Let me quote you Ren Zhengfei directly from Huawei's own website. So now you can't even say that the translation is incorrect since it comes directly from Huawei:

Google is trying to persuade the US government to allow us to use their ecosystem. In this regard, we are willing to work with Google. Our operating system wasn't initially intended for smartphones. Moreover, Google's operating system is open source, so we can continue to use it. The US limits our use of Google Mobile Services, GMS. That ecosystem includes thousands of partners, and Huawei wouldn't be able to build a comparable ecosystem in just a couple of days. If the US government allows us to continue to use Google's ecosystem, the US would maintain its dominant position in this field. If the US government refuses to grant the license, it will hurt them in the long run.
https://www.huawei.com/en/facts/voices-of-huawei/a-transcript-of-ren-zhengfeis-interview

I agree with you that my statement was not a completely true statement regardless of context. But most of the claims we make are like that, and the context here was quite obvious. You could have asked me the context instead of getting involved in name calling.
The context I was talking in was that the other person was claiming that Hongmeng is ready and will be released with Mate 30, which has DEMONSTRABLY been proven to be false.

People have been claiming all kinds of things about Hongmeng, which are flat out untrue.

And no, if Huawei had even a decent shot at using Hongmeng in the phone for a world wide release, they would have done that. They have replaced pretty much all American components in their phones even if that means compromising a little bit on quality.

Those are facts and well reasoned conclusions.

Frankly, you wrote such a long diatribe, in admittedly, quite immaculate English, but you forgot to actually counter any of the view point, other than using ad-hominen attacks all the way through.

IoT in industry is usually meant to mean everything apart from PC/Smartphone/Tablet.

And calling all international publications "regime mouthpieces" kind of betrays the limited understanding that you have of the world.

Want an actual "regime mouthpiece"? Take a look at People's Daily, where people have to mandatorily take quizzes on Xi Jinping thought:

https://www.theguardian.com/world/2...nalists-to-be-tested-on-loyalty-to-xi-jinping

What is that? Mao-era cult of personality resurfacing?

Thats just hollow phrases and sound bits to write your hopes for conflict between China and a non-Indian country on the wall.

Ideology and Money are never fully connected. Eastern countries are composed of many people with very different interests and many of whom are also ideological. So what?

Well, I am hoping nothing dude. It is China that is driving towards that.

And ideology and money may not be fully connected, but they do influence each other. Yes, eastern countries have their own ideologies, political beliefs, and interests. That is why they are behaving like that. Japan for example has already de-facto excluded Huawei from Japanese networks. India is about to do the same. Vietnam seems to have done similar.

Similarly, don't forget ASEAN along with a bunch of countries formed the TPP economic FTA, which in some ways basically was meant to exclude China. That was not purely out of economic interest either.

You overestimate the power of money, and underestimate the power of persuasion. And that will be your undoing.

Does it matter if Hongmeng still not able to use?

Moreover, Google's operating system is open source, so we can continue to use it. The US limits our use of Google Mobile Services, GMS. That ecosystem includes thousands of partners, and Huawei wouldn't be able to build a comparable ecosystem in just a couple of days.

This means user still can easily install GMS based on their own choices. Google cant stop them. Android is an opens source OS which anybody can use it.

https://m.gearbest.com/blog/how-to/...ore-on-huawei-mate-30-series-smartphones-8317

There is nothing to stop Huawei to continue. Best part is Huawei need not paid a single cent for GMS for their new smartphone. If user wants to install GMS on their new huawei smartphone. Its not Huawei problem. Huawei can save the money used to pay Google for GMS by selling their new smartphone cheaper since software cost has lower. This makes Huawei smartphone more value for money and attractive.

.
That's not a fact. Thats just your vapid opinion and hope.

No, that is a very reasonable conclusion drawn from a deep understanding of international politics.

Why else do you think that nothing has been done in HK yet?

You think Zhongnanhai is very happy with people openly singing American anthem, raising American and Colonial flags, and calling for intervention?

Many countries that have been sitting on the fence in the US-China trade war, will be forced to side with US and put some own sanctions, due to a lot of pressure.

That pressure will come from:
  1. The Human Rights and Democracy Lobby
  2. The defence and strategic lobby who have been recommending tough actions on China for quite a while
  3. In general, the citizens as well, who won't be very pleased by seeing the sites of another tank man or something similar.

Let me get to you on that later on. I have been hearing different things from different people.

You say that it is easy.

Many other tech blogs have said that it is exceedingly tough.

I will have to read more and get to the bottom of it.

Thats not a fact. Thats simply false and just gross uneducated or dishonest exaggeration and wishful thinking.

Just read this:
https://www.reuters.com/article/us-...-open-new-trade-channel-to-iran-idUSKCN1PP0K3

Or better yet go read Iranian FM's speech when he says that there has been no benefit incoming for Iran from Europe yet.

All major European companies have left Iran due to the threat of US sanctions.
