Huawei compares the Kirin 980 processor with the Apple A12 Bionic

The world of technology is extremely broad and competitive, many companies struggle every day to reach the top, and Huawei is currently about to launch its new mobile phone, the Huawei Mate 20 Pro, which will feature a Kirin980 processor. This device will be launched at an event on October 12 in London. We are faced with a processor that from the beginning has given much to talk about since Huawei mentioned that the Kirin 980 was better than the Apple A12 Bionic processor. At the moment, the Kirin 980 and Apple A12 Bionic are the only processors of 7nm, and not wanting to be left behind, Qualcomm will soon release its version of a 7nm processor later this year.

Features of the Kirin 980

The Kirin 980 is much faster, smarter and more efficient than its predecessor, the Kirin 970. Huawei was working for 3 years on the development of the Kirin 980 with 6.9 billion transistors making it 75% faster. It is 57% more efficient, and also has a 178% better performance than the Kirin 970. On the other hand, Apple also offers the same amount of transistors and a great improvement in its performance and efficiency.

Huawei has taken the launch of this device very seriously since it is the first SoC in the industry that comes equipped with two neuronal processing units (NPU) along with a Dual-NPU configuration. This configuration allows the Kirin980 to handle AI tasks more easily, allowing developers to improve the experience of all types of applications that require the use of artificial intelligence. It also has double IPS (image processor signal) that helps with better image processing with multiple camera sensors.

Regarding its connectivity, it supports LTE and has a Hi1103 Wi-Fi chip, which is considered the fastest Wi-Fi chip in the world, as it supports a download speed of 1.7GBPS. On the other hand, it has a GPS with a dual frequency (L1 and L5) that has a great location accuracy. It should also be noted that the Kirin 980 can get to recognize a total of 500 photos in just 6 seconds. It can also identify multiple subjects in a video in real time. Adding to all of the above, it is known that Huawei will start testing 4.5G networks in India using this processor soon.

Huawei P20 Morpho Aurora Out of Box Tour

Huawei is an absolute leader in many markets, including the Chinese smartphone market. It also ranks third globally, after Samsung and Apple. This simply means it is capable of making devices that not only meet the customers’ requirements but also look outstanding. In this sense, probably you won’t find anything better than the P20 series devices that were the first to adopt the gradient back cover. Immediately after that, some companies began using this technology for their flagships. So not accidentally, after five months of its launch, the cumulative sales of Huawei P20 series has exceeded 10 million units. Honestly, the goal is to reach 15-16 million units sold worldwide. To reach this goal the company is doing its best. Recently, the company ushered in four new color options, including the Morpho Aurora, Mother of Pearl, and Brown and Black leather variants.

All versions are amazing, but we decided to pay more attention to the former one, which has got its name for the morpho butterfly. At certain angles, the morpho aurora P20 appears almost pitch black. Viewed head-on in the right light, you’ll see a rainbow pattern with sunset hues, similar to the twilight P20, but with an additional splash or orange and yellow.

As for the Mother of Pearl, it has a subtle color-shifting effect similar to the white gold version of the regular Huawei P20. This version isn’t as obviously iridescent as the other shades, but it has a clean, understated look. With its copper-hued trim, it’s a little reminiscent of the white OnePlus 6.

Huawei is a professional in providing a gradient effect. Through the nano-vacuum indium plating process, a coating layer, which has a thickness close to the light band, is formed on the surface of the glass. When the light is irradiated onto the surface, a brilliant and rich color can be seen.

The Huawei P20 Morpho Aurora version performance and price are consistent with the previous version, equipped with a 5.8-inch 2244 × 1080 display, Kirin 970 processor, rear 12MP + 20MP black and white Leica dual-camera, etc. Among them, the P20 6GB+64GB is priced at 3388 yuan ($494), while the 6GB+128GB is available at 3888 yuan ($567).
