How to make PDF a 'friendlier experience' for everyone

For some people that have read my posts, they would think I am staunchly anti-India, anti-Afghanistan & anti-American. I am none of those things: I am a naturalized US citizen, my mom was born & raised in India; & my mom's family lives in India. I have absolutely nothing against Afghanistan or the Afghan people. I am a staunch Pakistani of course, but sometimes, there is no right or wrong answers in many situations. We are forced to take sides on difficult issues, & we defend our position to death even when the answer is not black or white, but in the 'gray area'.

Sometimes, I feel like the PDF brings out the worst in me, because I do not have anything against anybody, against anyone from any nationality. I don't take pride in offending others. There is always a war of words going on here, & I don't know if any of you have any regrets for any of your posts, but I do sometimes, because it is not who I am, & sometimes it brings out the worst in me. This is an excellent forum, a place where the voices of people from many countries is heard. So I would appreciate it if any of you could give suggestions on how to make this place 'friendlier', to learn from each other, & use it for knowledge & learning, for each other's benefit; rather than hurting each other.

I have no preconceived notions about anything. I however do have some "post conceived" notions spending time on this forum. I am willing to challenge my "stated positions" very well in a friendlier environment, in which I do not feel I am getting attacked from all sides.

Bilal brother i think you know a little about my character and know i have been trying to bash heads together from both sides of the border but have come to realise in particular today that this is no easy task. I agree with your sentiments my parents were born in India and i have some great friends that are Indian. My accountant lawyer and bank manager are all Indian and hindu and are great friends. I think something happens when guys in particular from the sub continent get behind a computer. They suddenly become global internet warriors and feel if they have a cheap shot it inflates their ego. The number of times i hear "you pakistanis are jealous " or " your sanitation is poor" or "you are not as good as us" is literally everyday.
If we could all stand back and have a think : Tonight in both nations we are going to have people going to sleep hungry. In both nations we will have people waking up hungry.We will have SIMILAR people with similar problems and with the same background then it will help. It hurts me to think of people starving or suffering atrocities and im genuinely being sincere. Wherever there is hardship its a sad thing.
If we could forgive our forefathers about what happened in the past and thats a big IF then we can at least build on the future.
Bilal i think most of the guys on here do tend to get excited and am sure have hearts and im sure dont mean half the things they come out with and im no angel in this either !!
I really hope im making sense and we all of us start chilling out a little coz without the Indian caps on here the forum wouldnt be half as fun or knowledgeable

Ironically enough,It was the cultured debates on this forum that prompted me to sign up.On the plus side;the moderators do a fairly decent and mostly thankless job,there are some truly perceptive characters lurking around in here and if you look at it defence is just the tip of the iceberg of topics handled at PDF.

On the negative side; Well it's Indians and Pakistanis on the same forum....What did you expect? lolz

lolz mate i disagree. Honestly Indians and Pakistanis that i have around me get on ace! Occasionally you do get a debate starting but we NEVER EVER disrespect each others religions or have a go at our nations. Its normally about who is the best cricketer etc. I wouldnt be on here if i didnt think it was educational, cultured and if it was mainly Pakistanis i think that too would be a cr*p.

lolz mate i disagree. Honestly Indians and Pakistanis that i have around me get on ace! Occasionally you do get a debate starting but we NEVER EVER disrespect each others religions or have a go at our nations. Its normally about who is the best cricketer etc. I wouldnt be on here if i didnt think it was educational, cultured and if it was mainly Pakistanis i think that too would be a cr*p.

I have plenty of Indian friends here, while I do not agree with certain positions of theirs, we don't ever talk about them, or argue with each other. Frankly speaking, I do not see them as Indians, & they don't see me as a Pakistani. There is mutual respect there.

Than there will be no use of PDF. But I do hate indians habit of saying against the truth especially its related to USA. They know within that the next person is speaking truth. But to keep their ego up n running they take sides of LIES.

Well ,everyone should understand that it is a just forum ,no matter whichever nationality we are ,but we all are patriot & love our nations very much ,whether he or she is an indian or pakistani or chinese or an alien .Try to maintain the decorum of the forum & debate cooly ,no need to get excited or pumped up if some war of words occur over a flamey thread .Just remember it is a just forum ,not only member are watching our statements ,but also guests are watching.So all the best & enjoy this forum until ur not pink
