How Pakistan and Kazakhstan increasing their defence cooperation
Rawalpindi–09 February, 2016
Pakistan and kazakhistan on Tuesday decided to enhance defence cooperation. This understanding reached during a meeting of Gen Zhasuzakov Saken Adilkhanovich, First Deputy Defence Minister for Kazakhstan and Rana Tanvir Hussain, Minister of Defence Production (MoDP). They exchanged views on matters of mutual interest and enhancing cooperation in defence production.
They further discussed areas of mutual interest between Pakistan and Kazkhstan. It was mentioned that defence ties are good between two countries. But these bonds needed to be strengthened more.
“Pakistan and Kazakhstan enjoys cooperative relations in defence production and efforts are underway to further enhance this cooperation“, said Rana Tanveer Hussain, Minister of Defence Production.
Pakistan immediately recognized Kazakhstan as an independent state (on Dec. 20, 1991) after its own declaration of independence (on Dec. 16, 1991). Soon after its independence Kazakhstan’s President Nursultan Nazarbayev visited Islamabad. Kazakhstan government voted in favour of Pakistan during the 2013 voting in the UN.Pakistan deeply appreciated Kazakhstan for its favourable vote in the UN to help Pakistan become its permanent member in 2013 and will also support Kazakhstan in the upcoming 2017 to 2018 UN polls.
