How many sabres were actually captured by India after the war in the eastern sector concluded?What happened to them later?were they brought to India or left there itself?I heard that the Pakistani airmen had damaged the vital components of the jets beyond repair.I was looking at some pics and one of them showed three sabres arranged in a row.

In two weeks of continuous bombing, including night raids, the IAF failed to destroy even one of the eleven grounded Sabres but in process lost 17 aircraft to ground fire. Before being grounded due to runway damage, the Sabres managed to shoot 11 Indian aircraft for the loss of five. The humble Sabre even managed to shoot down MIG-21s in air combat.
The grounded 11 aircraft were disabled by the PAF, however later some were inducted into the newly informed, B'Desh Air Component.

Lol @ the figure of 45 IAF aircraft lost.
And the same Indian Defence Ministry admitted to the loss of 42 Pilots and 6 Navigators up until 14th December alone.
At the end of the war, all Mirages in PAF inventory were lined up before the International media to be counted and photographed.And this is one of the Sabre's victim.... an Indian MIG-21, which you would probably never read in the Indian version of the air war.!!

And why else was IAF continuesly bombing the airfield for a full fortnight while constantly loosing aircraft to the ground fire witnessed by Foreign correspondence based in nearby Dacca Continental Hotel.
The so called tiny inferior Gnat had both home and numbers advantage in this encounter, in which the IAF loss is again not mentioned in the Indian version of the conflict.
