A handwritten letter penned by black civil right activist Malcolm X urging White Americans to embrace Islam, has gone on sale for a whopping $1.25 million, reports suggest.

The letter which was written by Malcolm after he paid a visit to Mecca in 1964, was found in a storage locker and the same was being sold by 'Moments in Time’, who deal with historic letters, dailymail.co.uk reported.

The letter was written with a hope to inspire Americans to shun racism.

Here are a few excerpts from his letter:

'I have just completed my pilgrimage (Hajj) here to the Holy City of Mecca . . . which is absolutely forbidden for non-Muslims to even rest their eyes upon.



'I very much doubt that 10 American citizens have ever visited Mecca, and I do believe that I might be the first American-born Negro to make the actual Hajj itself.'

'Muslims [are] here of all colors and from every part of this earth. If white Americans could accept the religion of Islam . . . they, too, could then sincerely accept the Oneness of Men, and cease to measure others always in terms of their 'difference in color.'

I was also thinking the same..it shows how sincere he was about racism..he had one standard for racism that he faced and another that Muslims showed for non Muslims..hypocrite.

Many people forever think since black is miserable, they must be victim of white man racism. Nothing is further from true. Blacks are in shit because their man can father 20 kids with 20 women out of wedlock, without paying any support. Their women can have 5-6 children with different man.

And if this racism against black thing is really so serious? I think black perceived racism is same as Muslim perception of discrimination.

They just need to hate someone.

He left it and in fact was killed by nation of Islam. Later the son of founder of Nation of Islam converted every one to Sunni Islam after he realized it in Jail after reading about Islam that his father is fraud.

Equality in Islam is among races not religions, Islam is the true religion therefore of course no other religion is equal to it. That's the reality. As for races you won't find black mosques, white mosques...Etc like different churches in Christianity.

There is no equality in Islam when you insist on treating Non-Islamic people with disresepct.

Its no different from discrimination based on Race or creed.


Calling oneself or their beliefs "superior" and others "inferior" is the very essence of Bigotry and Racism. The very opposite of Equality.

Unfortunately two years later Louis Farrakhan (who is just as bad as Elijah Mohammed) took over and may have reversed some/all of it. He's been running it ever since.
