How Israel backed media attacks you when you challenge ISRAEL in UN

No it's not. The FM's job is to formulate foreign policy. If he is not supposed to be a debate person then he needs to stay far away from debates. Or at least have enough sense to prepare for them before hand.
Foreign policy is formulated by consensus of the parliament and consent of the cabinet approved by the Prime Minister.

His job include to invoke any platform where Pakistan's policy can be stated.
After accepting to debate on international news.

He would come do it again. CNN should not fall for his trap to save their debate platform.

Please do censor some of the sexist remarks on the thread. Thankfully they are few due to other attractions like racism and religious bigotry.

Not quite.

A) The weight and how the international media values anyone both come from the weight the Government of Pakistan throws behind him/her. "Special Representative to the UN for Palestine" would hold just as much weight as "Foreign Minister", a la Zalmay Khalilzad. No one outside of Pakistan gives Quraishi any weight, he is no one. As was obvious from the fact that that "journalist" kept addressing him as "Mr. Ambassador", which he then childishly snapped back at.

B) The other source of weight for the rep, and more importantly the cause, comes from what he/she puts across. A blithering idiotic who makes a fool out of himself and a mockery out of the cause is obviously a liability. And that is exactly what Quraishi has so far proven to be. The FM was strutting around the world playing the savior of Palestine and a two-bit journalist with age old fallacious arguments dressed him down and rendered him useless. And now the headlines read, "Pakistan FM invokes anti-Semitic slur". As they say, "Nadaan dost se dana' dushman behtar hai".

Dude he wasn't that bad.

He should have been more militant in my opinion in his replies. Time for paussyy footing is over. Go in hard. He was ill prepared however made good points overall.

Start calling Israel a terrorist state on the world stage. We must begin the attack.

.
Bianna Golodryga getting triggered and going out of her way to repeatedly raise the point proves that the Pakistani FM has touched some raw nerve.
For the same effort, he should have questioned her that would her reaction be the same if say the Israeli or some Western FM had made some Islamophobic remarks.
Kudos to SMQ for exposing these hypocrites.

Looks like talking about those deep pockets on the western media is akin to inviting trouble.

He should have just said that there is more Jewish representation and support in Western media than there is Palestinian representation in Western media.

He was horrible and an embarrassment.

Only an infant would still need to be educated on who is right and who is not in this conflict. Or believe that geopolitics is run on right and wrong. If it was, then there would be no Israel, no IOK, or Rohingya genocide. It is only about might and since the entirety of the Palestinian support is impotent, this is now an impossible war of narratives for us, i.e. 'propaganda'. What did you think the purpose of these debates was? Convincing the Israelis and Americans that they are wrong? It is about deconstructing and defeating their narrative so that the common man in the west who is still concerned with right and wrong (you know, our last hope) can force his/her gov. to act on the Palestinians' behalf, a la the South African Apartheid. The entire purpose of Quraishi's circuits around the world is to gather diplomatic and political support to build this narrative, not to convince people that Israel is wrong or to build some mythical military force.

When he then sits for an interview where a two-bit journalist uses age-old and obviously fallacious arguments, that have been answered and defeated a thousand times over, to easily corner and undress him, he turns into the village idiot. No one listens to the village idiot. You can sit on your couch telling yourself repeatedly how he was right and that journalist was not but it will not matter for squat. What you and I believe matters for squat. He has lost the narrative and the fight, he is now "an anti-Semite who clearly cannot be trusted on the subject. Just like all the other Palestine supporters". Add to that the fact that since the man spearheading this effort is so hopelessly unprepared and uneducated on the matter, it is all about prayers for the Palestinians now.

This is not Pakistan and India, you don't get to ride waves of willfully blind political supporters.

Well we can always try Nawaz Sharif

He did nothing of the sort. Either you have completely bought into the anti-semitism trope, hook, line, and sinker, or you are criticizing SMQ just because you don't like him or his party.

If that's the only defense you have left then you've already forfeited the argument. Otherwise please refer to post#160.

Just because they say it is anti-semitism, doesn't make it so. He was referring to the influence of Israel as a state, not the Jewish people as an ethno-religious community.

But those who do not tolerate criticism of the Israeli state or government conveniently deflect any such criticism by terming it as anti-semitism. It may have worked in the past. It doesn't any more.

The Foreign Office has rightly pointed out that the journalist's response unfortunately confirmed SMQ's assertion.

Just so you can wrap your head around the argument, the equivalent would be saying that Pakistan has influence over the Taliban, which they say often, and no one is offended.

Please read my posts again and not respond until you've actually understood them.

No it's not. Please read up on how ministries work and what they are for. I can't be expected to waste time explaining simple facts when you can't be bothered not to produce "facts" out of thin air.

I understand your posts and your ideas well. But I'm not inclined to waste my time with you any further.

Was the damage really that great and immense as you describe it?
I feel it is not as bad as you say. I believe this will be water under the bridge.

I do however agree with your post. That it is about narrative building and getting the common man to push their government.

It is a losing, if not lost, battle already. We have no power to force the Israelis to stop killing children......We do not have the power to make anyone even listen. This war of narratives is a desperate last attempt, just like the rocks the Palestinians throw. It has no chance of succeeding, just like the rocks the Palestinians throw. But this is all that is left.

If we are only in it to make fools out of ourselves then it's better that we stay home, save whatever little dignity we have left for when we will need it against the other fascist next-door, and not hand the Nazi, apartheid state of Israel more ammunition to censor and censure the Palestinian plight. The Zionists are too cunning and unforgiving to let anything under their bridge. Then, as I said before, it's also about the capability of the man entrusted with this effort. But then who ever cared about that in Pakistan?

Pakistan FM invokes antisemitic slur
Discussing Israel's actions in Gaza, Pakistan's Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi said Israel has "deep pockets" and "they control media," prompting strong pushback from CNN's Bianna Golodryga.

May be she doesn't know about meaning of the word Semitic. To the best of my knowledge, majority of Israelis are European, not Semitic.

.
Anti semitism is the sin of west especially Europe. It's a shame of Europe for which, Palestinians are paying with their blood. If someone has to blame for anti semitism, it's the European including England. Pakistan or Asia or M.E/Gulf have nothing to do with this. Infact, Pakistan FM clearly called out on Israeli aggression and illegal state Israel being protected by media as well due to deep pockets.

That's clearly exposing the Zionists and has nothing to do with Jews or anti semitism. We were never anti semitic, nor we are neither we will as Islam doesn't teach us such a barbarian genocide the way Europe did to Jews back in the days. CNN should also share what Jews have to say about Israel and these Zionists.

I have adjusted the title, though. And, it's the day when you will remember Trump for his one truth about Media propaganda & lies.

This is the story of Pakistan, a series of never ending own goals.

Pakistanis don’t seem to think there’s a world outside their borders except India. So the Pakistani foreign minister can come on a major American cable channel and make these sorts of ridiculous statements. And it’s not like he was even set up to make that statement. He set it up himself, giggling and smiling like a little girl as he made some pretty reprehensible statements.

I am not surprised that the Pakistani embassy didn’t even bother to prepare him for the interview. Pakistani officials act like they own the world and don’t see the point of preparations and working out an effective communication strategy. It’s the reason why Pakistan’s image is in such a horrible place.Your FM simply confirmed what people believed about your country, that it is a bigoted and backward country.

Countries spend millions each year on their communication strategy and image, Pakistanis think they can just walk in and wow the universe. They almost always end up embarrassing themselves.

There is NO way to defend the statements made by your FM. If your argument is that we don’t need the world or care what it thinks of us, that’s fine. But then don’t come on American channels and make these kinds of insane claims. His ignorance and expressed bigotry undermined the legitimate work done by pro-Palestinian groups.

This should clear any confusion you may have.

That last bit, so should you lot.
