Could some of you please give me an insight in the organisation of pakistanian airlines?

I´m aware that pakistan has one major airline, which also serves as biggest international carrier. As far as i know there are also some smaller airlines which mostly operate for regional destinations.

What i´m interested about is, how air traffic is regulated inside Pakistan. Where are the major hubs for international destinations. Where are the main regional hubs? Do pakistani airlines form alliances with national and international partners? Do they offer customer programs like "Miles & More" from Lufthansa? Do they outscource engineering and maintenance to specialized partner organisations?

Thats it for the start. I would be happy, if you could give me some insight.

Initial general Information.
List of airlines of Pakistan - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Though PIA is the only Airline that travels far to N. America, South America, Europe, Middle East, Australia, Japan etc but rest of the Airlines are for domestic and perhaps to closer region like U.A.E, Qatar, Bahrain, RSA but services are not world class.

I would suggest you go to their Official Websites and contact specific department, I am sure they will be able to help you out and you might receive more authentic information and lists.

PIA
Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) is the largest airline of Pakistan. It was once considered to be the best in Asia in the 60s and 70s

When the 80s arrived Emirates leased two of its aircrafts, the Airbus A300 and the Boeing 737.

The Headquarter was and is still in Karachi

As years passed, PIA faced competition, sanctions due to country's nuclear detonation, and poor governance. As you might have known already corruption is at it's peek due to one of highest number of employees per aircraft in the world.

What is interesting is that it still has valuable assets. The Roosevelt Hotel in New York and the Scribe Hotel in Paris are worth $5 Billion and $3 Billion respectively.

I personally like the baggage allowance. For International its like 28-30 KG.

Although it has an aging fleet, the few modern Boeing 777s have a very good in flight entertaining system.

Check more on that here:

This is the best website if you want to know almost everything about PIA. I'm sure you will find alliance partners etc here.

History of PIA - Pakistan International Airlines

Shaheen Air

Shaheen Air is a Private Airline owned by a Pakistani-Canadian.

Its Headquarter is in Karachi

It began it's operations in the 80s but it took only this year to be considered the fast growing Airline. It is upgraded with the Airbus A320s and Airbus A330s

Check more on that here:

Shaheen Air has emerged as Pakistan's fastest growing Airline

Air Blue

Air Blue is another Private Airline, first launched in 2003. The CEO was once a PIA CEO.

The headquarter is in Islamabad.

The airline has dented PIA by launching flights to the U.K and is on the verge of expansion to other cities in Europe as it gets hands on more Airbus A320s and A340s.

In terms of aircraft age, it is considered to have the youngest in Pakistan.

It was the first airline in Pakistan to introduce e-ticketing check in service and like PIA it has a frequent flyer miles card.

That is interesting to know. I see most major pakistani airlines support Airbus.

If I talk about major Airlines then PIA is the biggest and National Airline of Pakistan. Their biggest hub in Europe and America is probably London because they stop-over in London on their way to USA and Canada. PIA travels to most of the major countries in the world (not sure how many but it's around 40 if my memory is correct)... You can easily find that out from the following link

Pakistan International Airlines - Great People to Fly With

Type your departure from Lahore/Islamabad or Karachi, Pakistan and you will see the list of Cities it travels to. PIA does have the Mile & More programs for frequent travellers. It is very much similar to British Airway's program as I don't know Lufthansa Airline's program.

AirBlue and Shaheen are the other two big Airlines of Pakistan. But both of them are limited to Domestic Flights, UK/England and Middle East (Dubai, Saudi Arabia etc).

The biggest rich diaspora of Pakistanis is probably in UK where there are around 1.2 million Pakistanis and most of them travels to Pakistan very frequently. PIA sometimes merge their flights with the passengers coming from USA/Canada to make it more profitable. There is London/Birmingham/Manchester flight to Pakistan almost everyday. Sometimes more than one...
