How India lags China in submarine race

Yes we are behind but we have so many ultra modern submarines on card like scorpene, Nepra, Arihand etc. along with our old modernize submarines. Probably Japanese and Yasen class are coming. We shall have a significant submarine Fleet in a decade,

. . .
Well its not like they need the whole entire sub force to cover such a small area. Not like the Pacific Ocean.

What small area?

If you mean the Malacca straits, what is better for hunting a submarine, than another submarine?

It only takes a few subs to cover that area. You don't need to send 50 boats to cover a narrow area.

Isn't that what you guys said when you attacked us in 1962, despite China being in the worst famine of our entire history?

From India's own internal military report, the Henderson-Brooks report:

It wasn't China, but Nehru who declared 1962 war - The Times of India

And we can sure see the quality of the Indian defence sector with the LCA. Even the Indian Airforce doesn't want it.

.
India says that only about "half" of their submarines are operational at any one time, so that is about 7 active submarines.

China has got 68 submarines which is huge, that is more than all of India's Destroyers+Frigates+Submarines combined.

Which makes it kind of funny that India is talking about blockading us at the Malacca straits. The Malacca straits are about the same distance from China as they are from India, and even our diesel-electric submarines can sail all the way to Pakistan and back.
let me jog ur memory, india andaman and nicobar are much closer than ur china so get ur facts straight

So why don't you try to attack us again like you did in 1962, if you're so powerful?

Instead of crying like babies everytime there is a "Chinese incursion" onto Indian soil?

Indian troops suspend patrols at Chumar - The Times of India

"NEW DELHI: Apart from dismantling a SET of strategically-located bunkers at Chumar as part of an arrangement to end the standoff at Depsang Bulge in eastern Ladakh, the Indian troops seem to have suspended patrols to the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in Chumar, at least for now. Senior officials briefed by personnel on the ground said the Army has discontinued the round-the-clock patrolling it was undertaking in the area for the last few months."

.
I'm very much against an Arm's race of any kind. A brief look at the history of the region will tell you why. We end up spending a lot of money and precious resources which could otherwise be used for other more fruitful purposes.

Both India and China should work together for reducing any kind of tension and work together for greater economic cooperation.

I don't know who is telling you all that. India was very weak in the 1960s both economically and militarily. Nehru, had developed a phobia of military coup looking at what was happening in Pakistan. Field-Marshal Cariappa's statement of supporting what was happening in Pakistan made it only worse.

What happened is unfortunate. Now the only way forward is to resolve our differences, if any, and move on.

That's from the Henderson-Brooks report, India's own internal military report.

It was written with quotes from Indian generals fighting on the ground in the 1962 war (including General Kaul).

The Indian generals remarked about how they were so confused, according to their OWN maps they were setting up military outposts FAR beyond the MacMahon line, in pure Chinese territory that India does not even claim!

And then Nehru told the Indian Army to "throw the Chinese out" of our own land!

Dhola Post that triggered war was on China's side of McMahon Line | Business Standard News

Now the Indian members here like to tell me that they know better than their own Generals who fought on the ground in the 1962 war, or that the Indian Army's own internal reports (written by the Indian Army) are Chinese propaganda. Anyone who thinks about it clearly will see that is not the case.

You have been here for quite some time. You should know better than picking up fight with anybody and everybody, right ?
Expecting a little more maturity.

How is that picking a fight?

Your Indian friend was mocking the quality of Chinese submarines, well we have a huge fleet of nuclear submarines and AIP submarines that can fire cruise missiles.

Can India build an AIP submarine? Does India even OWN any AIP submarines?

Our AIP diesel-electric submarine just sailed all the way to Pakistan without being detected, haven't you seen the news recently? (And we successfully sold 8 of those submarines to Pakistan).

That's our diesel-electric submarine, not even our nuclear attack submarine which docked in Sri Lanka recently as well.

I don't know how a country that can't even induct the LCA can mock us about this.

I really don't understand how the war in 1962 and Macmohan line is related to AIP submarines, neither would I try to relate them. Please stick to topic.
