How incompetent is PIA that it cannot get even 1 flight to New York?

I keep hearing these stupid rumors every few months that PIA is returning to the US but it never happens. After COVID-19 is over, does PIA have any plans to return to the US or are they so incompetent that they can't even get 1 flight to JFK? I am always amazed that Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan airlines can make money flying to JFK but PIA can't. Could it be that US gov't is blocking a nonstop flight to New York for some reason? PIA has the longest range airplane in the world that Boeing used to set the world record for longest nonstop flight. PIA was the first airline in the world to operate the 777-200LR (AP-BGZ). But most days, PIA uses these planes to fly between Lahore and Karachi, massive waste of such an ultra long range plane that should be flying to New York, Chicago, Houston and other long haul places that it was designed for.

It doesn’t make PIA incompetent. There used to be a direct flight from JFK to Lahore. But thank you to our ex prime minister for terminating this air route. And not to forget all the corruption that made this strong revenue collector and brining a lengthy diminution to its value.

It was an American pressure tactic to force PIA out. They also forced out Pakistani banks from the USA. PIA can manage direct flights to Toronto and London without any major issues. I would also point out that corrupt Pakistani airports were scanning passengers for Covid 19 while uber competent American and European airports were doing nothing.

There is a thing called "Fifth Freedom of flight"

The fifth freedom is the right for an airline to stop in a country other than its own and pick up passengers before continuing on to another destination (usually in a third country).

PIA could exercise that, and increase frequency to NY / Chicago / Dallas from Lahore / Islamabad / Karachi. Even with thin traffic from Pakistan, it could still make money.

Back in the 1960s PIA used to be like what Emirates is today. It used to fly to Australia as well, most of the Turks that came here during that time all flew in PIA. That was the time when merit was the hiring criteria and not what language the guy spoke or which political party he belonged to. Then came the quota system and political hiring, so PIA's downfall was inevitable.

because americans backstabbed us
by promising direct route to nyc and sold us boeing 777 which were at that time called trouble 7
france was very exited for us to buy airbus and rafale in one big order
americans too us for a ride
sold us there shiit which we never really needed
and backed out from direct route stating security concerns
btw still today every year there team comes and rejects all the arrangements as not optimized
they never want us to have a foot print there strong enough
