How do Pakistanis view Iran's development of nuclear weapons?

I voted makes no difference to Pakistan.

You might ask why, well, ask any Iranian about Pakistani nukes and he'll most likely say it makes no difference to Iran.

Heck, ask any Bangladeshi what they think of Pakistani nukes and they will most likely say it makes no difference to Bangladesh.

Thing is, it's all about threat perception. If majority people don't view some countries as hostile/rival, they wouldn't care.

PS: Occasional mutual dissing/cussing don't count.

It will effect Pakistan because Iran will use its nukes to try and become the leader of the Islamic world. Right now, that position is balanced between Iran (for Shias), Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and Turkey.

If Iran goes to war with the US and uses tactical nuclear weapons, the fallout will come to Pakistan. If Iran decides to go rogue with its nukes no sanctions will be able to stop it. If Israeli proxies or internal terrorists get a hold of Iran's nukes it will be a nightmare. If Iran gets a regime change which is not in favour of Pakistan then Pakistan may be fighting a three-front war with Afghanistan, India and Iran, of which two will be nuclear armed and have extensive experience in the field of proxy warfare.

It is best for Pakistan to just offer nuclear protection to a few Islamic states. The more countries gain nuclear power, the worse.

Learn to do basic understanding when reading, when did I say that Iran will hand over nukes to the militia?

I'm saying that Iran is behind the Zainabioon, and if Iran got nukes it could leverage those capabilities against Pakistan if Pakistan decide to act against their militia interests.

I mentioned Bangladesh for couple of reasons, 1) you personally being from BD, 2) BD and Pak having troubled past(and present) and 3) Both are in South Asia. My point is, when you, with our troubled relations don't care about our nukes, what makes you think anyone in Iran would care? or anyone in Pakistan would care about their nukes?

As for your other point about BD being far away from Pak, well, incase of nukes with ballistic/cruise missiles, distance don't really matter. Hence the reason Israel is scared of Iran acquiring nukes.

As for Iran having ambitions of becoming regional power, well, their region is middle east, ours isn't. Besides, who doesn't have ambitions anyway? Plus, if having nukes makes one regional power then Pakistan is already a regional power(which it isn't).

One last thing, when you are in Pakistan's geography with 3 countries having nukes, one being your mortal enemy India, other being you bestie China and third being hostile Soviet Union(previously) and neutral Rsussia(currently), one more country acquiring nukes makes no difference. Especially when the said country was the first one to recognise you after your establishment.

Iran and Pakistani interests don’t overlap aside from being Muslim nations. In fact some say Pakistan assisted Iran’s N ambitions.

Pakistan already has two nuclear neighbours. A third one in our south west is not in our interest especially when any actions by Iran in middle east can get us involved despite our neutral position. Remember we do unofficially provide nuclear umbrella to GCC.

Doesn't matter. We actually support it. Because if Iran became a nuclear power, it will mean that no country would dare to attack it and hence we will always have atleast this border secure from free movement of foreign agencies spies and operatives. So, actually a good thing for Pakistan.

To be frank, to us it doesn't matter which Muslim country became the regional power. Till now the country with most influence in ME and surrounding region was Saudi Arabia and Pakistan had no objection to that. Now turkey is rising and we actually support rise of turkey and want it to became a force which matters. Iran is also strong and influencial in a sense that if enjoy influence in Iraq and Syria. But all this means nothing to Pakistan (in negative way). Instead a strong influencial Iran may prove to be beneficial for Pakistan as we saw with the example of KSA and UAE till now and are observing on daily basis with Turkey.
