Yup.. thats what the pilots do in a light training flight.. in advanced jet trainers they use the super cruise... but what i learned from u is that u have flown it like in the airshow and have used just smoke winders..

Rely more on BVR's,u can shoot down even from a good distance

Use Thrust vector control , maybe 3D TVC.

Use the canards well ......focus on dog fight rather than using BVR.

Hmmmm,ya similar to this,though through a different maneuvering,u have to be really brave to perform it,it can spoil ur taste the entire day.
