Hotel bomb kills at least nine, wounds 14 in Nowshera

PESHAWAR: A bomb exploded inside a northwestern Pakistani hotel on Thursday, killing at least nine people and wounding more than 14, police said.

“The bomb exploded inside the hotel. At least nine people have been killed and more than 14 were wounded,” Mohammad Hussain, a senior police officer in Nowshera town, where the blast took place, told AFP.

The bomb exploded in the evening as dozens of people were gathered after breaking their day fasting.

Like the rest of the Muslim world, Pakistan is observing the holy month of Ramadan, in which faithful fast from dawn to dusk.

Last week, on Friday, 51 people were killed when a suicide bomber blew himself up at a crowded mosque in northwestern Khyber tribal district, the country’s deadliest attack for three months.

PESHAWAR, Pakistan (AP) — A bomb planted in a child's tricycle exploded outside a shop in northwestern Pakistan on Thursday, killing at least eight people and damaging several stores and hotels, police said.
The attack occurred in the main bazaar in the town of Risalpur in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, said Mohammad Hussain, police chief for surrounding Nowshera district. Shoppers were buying goods for an upcoming Muslim holiday when the bomb went off. At least nine people were wounded, Hussain said.
No group claimed responsibility for the attack, but the Pakistani Taliban has carried out many bombings throughout the northwest.
Also Thursday, unknown gunmen opened fire on police at the gate of a hospital in the northwest town of Dera Ismail Khan, killing one policeman on duty, said Mohammad Nawaz, the local police chief.

Is this the same as the one DAWN is reporting or is it different? The Dawn one says hotel, this one says Tricycle and a shop.

Regardless putting a bomb in a child's tricycle is just insanely inhuman! Yet again the terrorists show they have no regards for life, either young or old.

Nothing is changed .... same mentality ..same causes for attacks and same people ... they just change place to hide bomb and blast it .... Security agencies need to change their working style now

Actually it is a change tactics. Unlike before they are using more IED's than suicide bombers for such attacks. It i also said they first tried to plant it in the cantonment area but since due to high security they planted it at a hotel.
