JAMSHORO: Students of Sindh University were greeted with baton charge by law enforcing agencies on Tuesday when they were celebrating Holi on campus. Six students were held by the Jamshoro police but were later released.
Students came out from their hostels and held a protest against the attack by police and Rangers. They demanded that the law enforcing agencies “who could not tolerate cultural activities” should be removed from campus.
Students Vishnu Das, Indar Kumar, and Asad Jamali told Sindh Express that police and Rangers started the baton charge while students of different departments were celebrating Holi. “First police and Rangers beat up students in the campus and then they conducted raids at hostels. Later, six students were held,” said Kumar.
Kumar, Das, Jamali, Daulat Ram, Daulat Kumar and Vishan Das were held and were released later.
“We were participating in the festivities of our Hindu friends when they [police and Rangers] attacked us for no reason,” said Shahnawaz Bhutto. “It is an unbearable attitude and the administration doesn’t interfere when students are treated this way,” he alleged.
According to the police, students of different political and nationalist parties were disturbing the university’s environment.

.
extremely sad state of affairs in Pakistan of Hindu's.....not surprising considering everyone excepting Sunnis are deemed Kafirs.

.
Yep, need more pure shariah until the minorities feel completely out-classed and are forced to convert or leave!

.
how many hindus have been baton charged of them celebrating off campus in public?

if they dont seek approval of campus before celebrating the security might have thought political riots in campus

university campus is not your dad's ownership that you can do anything,

what exactly is eid celebration have you even seen one in your life? the last line seems out of place, the author didnt bothered explaining the quoted line how different political and nationalist parties were disturbing the university’s environment.

holi was also celebrated on different parts of pakistan with full freedom

Congratulations to the law enforcement agencies for saving the day.

Oh dear. As it is there are so few Hindus in Pakistan and even they can't celebrate Holi without being beaten up.

The security forces in Pakistan are extremely radicalized. This view stands confirmed now. They couldn't stand a bunch of Hindus and their few Kaffir muslim friends spoil their Pure/Pak muslim zameen with colours of Holi - A kuffar festival. It made their blood boil.

. .
even children celebrating holi can create problems for pakistan .

the talibunnies can wait.

@Aeronaut

Please close the thread. Since the real reason behind this baton charge is not religious intolerance but due to indiscipline of the students. Also issue infractions to Indian members for trolling. Thanks.
