Hockey legend refuses heart transplant offer in Pakistan

Me humiliate myself? Stop being a blithering idiot here.

You always post unpatriotic things on PDF or views that go against the mainstream Pakistani perspective, you false flagger.

Calling someone a false flagger is not a valid arguement. Bahir kay mulkon main ja kay tou bas gayay laikan tor tareeqay abhi bhi jahilon walay hee hain.

On new health index, India ranks 143/188

The first global analysis that assesses countries on sustainable development goal (SDG) health performance was launched at a special event at the UN General Assembly Wednesday and published online in The Lancet.

The study by an international collaboration on the Global Burden of Disease (GBD) analysed each country’s progress towards achieving health-related SDG targets by creating an overall SDG Index score. Countries were then ranked by their scores to show which nations are closest to achieving the targets.

Absolutely right...India has the largest organ black market due to the huge multi dimensional poverty there, more than any other country in the world. And people from Arab world and other countries visit India for that very purpose, it is actually very shameful and humiliating for India.

Here they are bragging and boasting about an inhuman thing...they are braggarts(read beighairat).

Need a kidney? Inside the world’s biggest organ market

Chennai, India - Three years ago, Vikas was a school dropout helping his father till the family farm near the northern Indian city of Kanpur - a job he despised.

But today, his fortunes have changed. The 26-year-old is earning much more money working as one of the hundreds of kidney brokers across the Indian subcontinent, fuelling an ever-expanding multimillion-dollar black market for the sought-after human organ.

"If you have the money and want it fast, you come here. I will find you a donor and you can go home with a new kidney in a month," Vikas told Al Jazeera, speaking on the condition that his real name not be published.

Hockey legend refuses heart transplant offer in Pakistan

World Cup-winning field hockey goalkeeper Mansoor Ahmed on Monday refused the offer of having his heart transplant conducted in Pakistan.

“Pakistan does not have enough facilities, I want the transplant to be conducted in India,” Ahmed said.

The ailing sports star reached out to India last week and asked for help in securing a heart transplant — despite years of breaking the eastern neighbours’ “hearts on the field”.

The 49-year-old has been suffering for weeks from complications stemming from a pacemaker and stents implanted in his heart.

Ahmed has been a sporting icon in Pakistan since helping the country win the 1994 World Cup in Sydney with his penalty stroke save against the Netherlands in the final.

“I may have broken a lot of Indian hearts on the field of play by beating India in the Indira Gandhi Cup [1989] and in other events but that was sport,” Ahmed had told AFP in a recent interview, adding, “Now I need a heart transplant in India and for that I need support from the Indian government.”

Ahmed — who played 338 international matches, participated in three Olympics and various other high-profile events in a career spanning from 1986 to 2000 — said the visa could be a lifesaver.

...just to add, hope Sunil M will volunteer here and do the needful, and lets hope has a bigger heart for it to donate the heart for the Pak hockey legend, this will nullify the hype that Indians have small hearts.

And a brain dead person can do this or rather his family can volunteer for such person. Hope Sunil M is listening here...don't know he can as he is brain dead.

Well, do you know its not available anywhere else? Not with Iron Brother? Don't just come up with what can only e called figment of your imagination. Btw, read the original post for gods sake. he was offered a procedure in Pakistan itself but refused it as this was the first time such a procedure was going to be performed in your country. What a sad state of affairs, it is. Even after 70 years of independence, your own people don't trust the competence of Doctors of your country and fly off to UK and India. I am just saying you need to try your IRON BROTHER.

Also please see this and educate yourself as to how the Pakistani State takes care of Health and education: The Reasons for the sorry state of affairs have been stated here.
