HIT website confirms the existence of AL-KHALID II project

. .
That CAD doesn't make any sense. The turret of AK without cage armour is not like this at all except maybe for sights placements. Also, It does not seems bulged.

@Bratva

Look closely at the overlapping turret designs. One shows the frontal turret and the other shows the upper side of the turret. To me it looks like they'll add add-on armour to it.

Lets see. Depends upon the powerplant. If they are going to keep the same, additional weight and add on armors would certainly affect the overall performance of AK II

What do you make of those designs?

How do you know this?

@Zarvan also told me that he knows for certain that Pakistan has an ICBM project completed and ready to be tested (but isn't being tested due to geopolitical reasons).

Believe Zarvan bhai at your own expense. :D

Currently the most powerful tank engines, whether diesel ( Leopard , Leclerc, Mekrava) or gas turbine of M-1 Abrams are limited to 1500 hp with total weight of the tank close 60 tons or more. (Arjun has the German Ka- 501 1400 hp engine). Pakistanis tank’s power plant is the Ukrainian 1200 HP engine but with Al-Khalid weighing less than 50 tons, it is more than adequate.

Don’t know what is envisaged for AlKhalid-2. Will it be better protected or with a heavier gun or with improved or better fire control systems etc? Better protection means heavier tank hence more powerful transmission. However more powerful engine would also need better cooling and hence bigger body and thus a bigger target. But would it necessarily make it a better tank?

At least on paper Al Khalid-I appears as good as any modern tank accept may be Leopord-2 & M1 A2 Abrams and should be good enough for Pakistan’s needs. Increasing armour protection & improving fighting control systems that enables you to have better first shot kill probability are expensive. Latest South Korean tank ‘Black Panther’ costs about $8.5-million per unit; almost twice as much as Al Khalid

Understand China has developed a new light tank dubbed ZTQ which weighs only about 35 tons and is especially suited to mountainous terrain. May be Pakistan needs that kind tank for Kashmir, FATA & Baluchistan rather than more of the heavy Al-Khalid type armour?

Hopefully AK 2 will be unveiled at IDEAS 2016. I've been waiting for it's appearance for two years now.

I was right on that in fact more than one ICBM project exists

He is NOT wrong.

:o:

Don't think so.

Post hi delete kr di? :P

Sir, you are free to think what ever you want.

Such ICBM projects exist on paper as Proof of concept so to show upper echelon that some work is being done. A smart way to keep them off your back and do corruption at same time by showing them you purchased XYZ material to build a prototype
