Historic Boraibari Day!!

Today is Boraibari Day. On this day in 2001, the Border Security Force (BSF) of India tried to intrude the area of Bangladesh and take controll of the Roumari BOP. Our brave soldiers gave a heroic fight to save the sacred soil of our beloved motherland. We mourn to the brave souls of our fighters of BGB now who sacrificed their lives for this land on this day.

who orders the BSF to move in?

Just an unfortunate event where the BSF decided to cross the border despite warnings because of claims of disputed territory on the orders of a junior commander. In the border BSF members will do this to take assets like cattle and/or property. I don't think this was a planned event.

It is also unfortunate that often times BSF personnel will flout established border protocol and do 'what they please' to cross the border and engage in looting and/or armed conflict with BDR (nowadays BGB) well inside Bangladesh territory. This was such a misguided attempt often ignored by BDR, but for this instance, they decided to stand their ground.

The violent armed skirmish that ensued this day in 2001 at Boraibari ended up pretty bad for the BSF, not so much for our border guards. 16 BSF members killed according to Indian Media but maybe three/four casualties on our side.
