Hindu community to cut Durga Puja expense to aid Rohingyas

Bangladesh Hindu community leaders will provide assistance to Rohingya Muslim refugees curtailing expenses of the Durga Puja, the largest Hindu religious festival of the country.

Bangladesh Puja Udjapan Parishad came up with the announcement at a view exchange meeting at Dhakeshwari National Temple Auditorium in Dhaka this morning.

“We will shorten the expenses of the festivity across the country and donate the money to help the Rohingya Muslim refugees,” said Advocate Tapas Kumar Pal, general secretary of the parishad.

The parishad urged its local leaders to be more vigilant to avert any untoward situation during the festival.

Commendable. Credit where it's due. Long may they live, prosper and the sons and daughters of the particular community become national treasures of/for Bangladesh, many years to come.


Bangladeshi-hindus are different from Hindutva-Hindus of India. And are peaceful, sound, modest minded, but BD need to protect them from the Hindutva-India extremists brainwashing them, the Modi Hindutva government even urges them to leave BD To join India by brainwashing them to think of BD being some Islamic nation which is intolerant to Hindus. When Hindus and Musalmans lived side by side for the longest time well and truly like brothers, enjoying each others company and what not. One of the famous Folk song sang by Late Shah Abdul Karim from Sylhet Called gramer Najuwan Hindu Musalman, typifies how well connected, jelled and in tranquility, both types of religion people living in Bangladesh.
