That's BS, a propaganda piece against China. First you build roads and HSR and then you have emerging cities springing up along the route, not the other way around. China also has the world's longest subways, biggest airports and ports, highways, they are part of the infrastructure designed to serve China's future, not the past.
Xinjing Urumqi's subway is a thousand times better than any subways in US.We will continue to build more railways in xinjiang and Tibet
U r right, it is very beautifulXinjing Urumqi's subway is a thousand times better than any subways in US.
I think it is pretty positive video and he has been factual. Definitely not a propaganda otherwise I won't share or at least not tag you. So if there is something that is not per as your official then learn to take it in a positive manner because you won't find too many sycophants in the outside world. That's BS, a propaganda piece against China. In the US and the west their infrastructures are very rundown and falling apart, they are neither willing nor have the means to rebuilt them, so smearing China for her glittering super class infrastructure seems to be the only option they have to put China in a bad light and make themselves look not really that bad.
Then exclude Europe.. here people use trains as much as possible.Train in Western world are a novelty

There are a whole bunch of reasons as to why trains are not popular.
One reason is simply because unlike China private citizens own land in the US and they aren't all poor and pushovers. The ONLY way to build extensive rail networks is to Eminent Domain large swaths of property from private citizens. This was done for the Highway systems in the 1950's. The only reason that was successful was due to Cold War fears of not being able to mobilize. While the main backbone roads were successful using Eminent Domain some of the secondary failed to win court approval. Also many were built along or OVER established train routes. It would be a hard sell for high speed rail to be seen as so necessary that you can take people's land away for it.
Another reason is simply because the US has been a leader in aviation. When commercial aviation became cheap enough for the average person in the 1950's trains were seen as yesterday's tech (commercial transcontinental trains had been around since the 1870's..80 years). Everybody wants the latest smartphone these days..not a dumbphone for a poor person. Trains were seen as the dumbphone and got tossed in the bin.
China is also taking over US as the world largest aviation market , the country now is already the country with longest highways and subways. Next time US will have other reports explaining why traveling by air , highways and subways are not people's choice in US and they prefer walking caust that's good for the health.
