For the people sieged in an impoverished enclave it surely was impressive that they stood up to the oppressive Israeli occupation and brought Israel to the ceasefire table. We all know Israelis this time had lost morale and your own citizens were surprised by Hamas's ability to retaliate against Israeli offensives. It's no longer like before where you could dictate all terms through violence and attack us before elections every couple or few years anymore, this time Israelis would have to pay a price. Am I supposed to be shocked that a small strip of land under a blockade and siege that has little to no access to the outside world doesn't have an economy of a functioning state?
