Why are you Indians building many metro subways and HSR in your country now ? So, when it comes to Pakistan, all these modern infras transportation facilities are not needed and Paks dont deserve to live in modern convienence ? Dont be a hypocrite and a sour grape that just dont want to see good progress in your neighbour.

Of course, public transport is subsidized, this is the case throughout the world aside from Hong Kong. Public transport has been highly beneficial for Pakistan. If public transport is so bad then why is your India going into overdrive in building mass transit systems across the country? Car culture is extremely bad for the environment and advocates of car-centrism have no right to scream about the environment.

no dude, YOU were the one who first made the claim that it wasn't economically sustainable. So the burden of proof is on you.

The proof is reality: HSR has not happened yet, has it? It cannot - because it is financially unsustainable in the long run. When the population density and requirements are met, it will become a reality then, and only then. Pretending otherwise, or using is as a Trojan horse for social engineering is only a smokescreen. What works in Japan or China, or old cities in Europe, simply will not work here.
