Here's how Pakistan ranks among world's English speaking countries

Someday I will make a report on 'Standard Punjabi Proficiency Test' and will place Pakistan on #1 and India on #2.
When will they understand nobody gives a flying :F for such kind of reports?

I hope that your government gives more emphasis on promoting Punjabi.

Yup exactly, people ridicule this kind of accent. Folks don`t spare even the former miss worlds.

Priyanka 's accent is nice though, it has changed to totally Indian over the years.

Dear my point is to not target these media people or India in general, I am only trying to reflect on these twisted social norms, which people don't even want to acknowledge for obvious reasons. Trust me, communicating in English isn't just about communication anymore, it's more about personal impression and acknowledgement for being able to identify oneself with the fckd up standards that have taken over our lives.

.
If speaking English is only key to ultimate progress then China was supposed to have doomed.

Accent thing is not true man.
This used to happen like a decade back. As over the years a very large number of people in India have started speaking English, its wow factor has diminished dramatically. South Indian truck drivers speak English nowadays. With a very thick accent for sure but English nonetheless.Today if someone speaks English in a foreign accent, h/she would be laughed at publicly.

People have come over their English complex and sort of made English their own now.

If speaking English is only key to ultimate progress then China was supposed to have doomed.
Knowing English is a big advantage now employment wise in a global world. It is the most widely spoken language geographically.

When we have 3 different mediums of language in schooling this was bound to happen. Of these 3 I feel sorry the most for the so called English medium schools. They do most of the rote learning.

.
I joined the forum also for the reason that I could improve my english . It's only dialogue that improves our english skills . Though I do get confused on usage iof ' could ' and ' would ' .

Mostly I use english as ' shut up ' . 'Get out ' , 'you little punk ' , 'so what you think you fuktard ' . 'I'll screw you '

Wow speaking English seems like you're chewing a chew gum in your mouth .

No one can deny it. But my point was that for making progress knowing English aint a must, like its not like that without knowing English U can not make progress.

Ofcourse not. It is not a pre-requisite.
But it does give an advantage to nations and individuals who can manage it well.

This is particularly relevant for the global service industry and not global product industry. That is why Japan and China could make it big without English because they made their fortunes in product manufacturing. However, mass manufacturing to lift the nation of poverty is not the future anymore with protectionism starting globally.

In global service industry, English is essential.

Totally agree with that.

. . .
English is surely important for international communications.
But Pakistan's own language are more important for building country.

Read a lot of books. English is such a basic language. Arabic and French is something I partially know but could do better in.
