I have a friend whose daughter has some sort of defective intestine with some sort of infection from last several years. Her daughter is no 26. Doctors haven't allowed her to marry. They say that she will die if in case they are not able to stop this infection.

The guy works as driver in our office. He doesn't earn much and he was somehow helping his daughter to get better but all these years she didn't get any better. She even had an operation and stayed in coma but somehow survived. He went to each and every doctor he was referred to his friends and colleagues but it seems like no one was able to help him.

Now, a doctor here in Lahore has referred him some sort of injection which may help her to decrease or even stop this infection so she may get some better (just a chance). There are total 14 injections and each one will cost him 1.5 million PKR. This is just a chance and nothing more.

I full upload full medical reports as soon as I get it for those who can help. If someone could help her get some better treatment inside or outside Pakistan inside reasonable budget then it would be appreciable and it may help her to survive.

. .
Anyone who can help is welcome. He asked me if I could help him. I have asked him to give me all medical reports. I will get my hands on those medical reports soon. In between, I thought should ask someone else for help too.

Let's see the reports first before anything else.

PS: Please make sure to protect her privacy.

The history is not detailed. In this situation, you might want the patient to write a detailed description. Make sure it has the following in it: Current symptoms, How it developed over time along with past symptoms, Any other member of family or community around the patient suffering from it, Diseases of genetical family (those related by blood), What makes it better and what makes it worse, Treatments received and the response, And anything else patient wants to say, plus the Medical reports/tests.

As pointed out above, make sure you remove names, address, contact details, etc before uploading.

Edit: By the way, the part about marriage is suspicious. You can get married even on your death bed.

@faisal6309 have you uploaded the medical reports ? the information you have given is vague? what medication has she already used ie old prescriptions and tests... Everything relevant to the surgery as well which drug the doctor has prescribed that might save her? Because Crohn's disease is the diagnosis from the topic that is clear. There are no miracle cures for Crohns and it is progressive but the symptoms can be controlled. Sorry for the late reply I missed the tag. But all of this is hearsay until actually looking at the reports.

I haven't uploaded the documents yet. I will upload it for you. I was looking forward to any reply like you. I will upload documents soon. Office is not allowing me to check their file because there is no record keeper today. We have to check our own record which is saved in home. For now, doctors have called him for infliximab injections. 8 Injections and each one of it will cost 2,00,000 PKR. (sorry for mistake in above post). That's what they wrote.

I can get the reports checked by some major hospitals in Delhi that deal with a lot of international patients to see if some treatment is possible here.

Do put up the reports or PM them.

when you have the reports please inform me . Also I do not know if it is still in circulation but Remicade is the brand name and it is available in Pakistan for 50 thousand for an injection. But the issue is if there is infections then this can be fatal. This will stop the immune system from working (immuno suppressant) and any infection there is will grow very quickly. Again reports have to be seen but do read about this drugs side effects.

I think Indian users here might be able to help this poor girl. India has just started production of a bio-similar by the name of "Infimab". Could any Indian user confirm whether it has hit the market and at what price?

Edit: My understanding is, the patient actually is in good professional hands, the issue seems to be affordability of her medicine. Is this right?

Crohn's disease - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

There are no medications or surgical procedures that can cure Crohn's disease. Treatment options help with symptoms, maintain remission, and prevent relapse. In those newly diagnosed a corticosteroid may be used for a brief period of time to quickly improve the disease with another medication such as either methotrexate or a thiopurine used to prevent recurrence.

Crohn's is associated with an increased intake of animal protein, milk protein and an increased ratio of omega-6 to omega-3polyunsaturated fatty acids. Those who consume vegetable proteins appear to have a lower incidence of Crohn's disease. Consumption of fish protein has no association

Tried changing diet?
