Helicopter crashes in Azad Kashmir, four killed

MUZAFFARABAD: A helicopter crashed near Jehlum Valley in Azad Kashmir Monday, killing four persons and wounding several others, officials said.

The president’s spokesman Maj. Gen. (Rtd) Rashid Qureshi was also injured in the crash.

Director Gen. ISPR Maj. Gen. Waheed Arshad has confirmed the incident and said that the helicopter was on security duty for VIP movement.

He confirmed death of four persons adding that the pilot survived in the incident.

On Yahoo! news I saw the headline "Copter escorting Musharraf crashes". For a second I thought it read "Copter carrying Musharraf crashes". My heart jumped to my mouth.

The Heli made crash landing due to some technical problem.

4 people including Brigadier Zahoor, A Lance Naik, A sepoy and a PTV Cameraman Muhammad Farooq dies.

While Musharraf Spokesman Maj Gen Rashid Qureshi is among the injured.

While Musharraf is safe and sound and inagurated Naran-Balakot road construction wihich was destroyed in Oct8 earthquake.

was this chopper a back-up chopper for the VIP movement?

fatman it was not a Jetranger.
It was also not backup chopper for VIP movement as all those onboard also included cameraman of PTV and spokesman for Musharraf.

it is confirmed - PUMA helicopter which crashed - these birds are getting old - they need a upgrade.

It is not the luck of Musharraf.

Pakistan has been saved.

I am horribly worried with the political development.

I want the peace process to progress.

It is high time for peace and progress!

When i heard the news for the first time thought that maybe the militants have taken it out and army is trying to hide it out. Anyhow it was a sign of relieve that it was a flame out and not due to militants. Still we lost 4 men. my condolences to the family of all who lost these brave men.
