I was here in April 2017. Beautiful memories. We started journey from Xining on booked car; first went to chaka salt lake than came to Qinghai lake. Spent the night in hotel and came back to Xining next day. April is probably not the right month to visit as shores of Qinghai lake was still frozen. I wish Chinese govt could relax on the invitation letter condition for visa and we Pakistanis could more often visit those heavens.

You must've traveled extensively, Chaka Salt Lake is not even a well known tourist destination for the Chinese, kind of off the beaten track place to visit.

We had a 15 day visa so we traveled for 14 days. First to chaka salt lake then to Qinghai. Then took permit to Tibet and via train reached to lhasa to shigaste to EBC to back to lhasa visited drak yerpa and took flight to chengdu then to Bangkok and then to Lahore.
