Heart Rate Monitor: Couldn’t find it. Is it available in India?

Heart Rate Monitor: Somebody please help me to procure this device. I had a hard time looking for it in India. I made enquiries at sports goods shop, surgical instruments shop, physiotherapy equipment shop, and gymnasium and fitness centers. None of them had a clue what it is. In developed countries, Heart Rate Monitor is a household item. In India even the military must be oblivious of this concept.

So can somebody tell whether it can be purchased here or is importing the only way?

I just googled i never purchased one so i don't know which one would be better.

Any city within India will do provided they give the facility of shipment and the total cost (which includes tax, shipment, product price) is affordable.
