Has China already won in the South China Sea

My personal view is that China has already largely won in the South China Sea. It has already built multiple islands and a large fleet to secure its claims. USA has not really challenged the Chinese build up other then sail some war ships through the area. That would be very difficult if China wanted to stop it. Other countries..Philippines Vietnam etc have not seriously challenged China militarily...nor do they have the capacity to. Its not a complete victory yet but its like a 90% victory IMO. What do other PDFers think?

If it was Libya claiming the South China Sea.....USA would have already bombed and destroyed those islands. USA really hasn't challenged the Chinese build up. Its too late now. All those freedom of navigation exercise are for media consumption. They would end dramatically if China wanted to stop them.

IMO for China, its mission is already accomplished. Airfields are already completed.
Frim henceforth no USN submarines can prowl around the SCS undetected prempting US attempts for its 1st Strike Nuclear Option.
It has already established 7 islands military or stars strategem with SOSUS already installed, quantum and laser radar, etc.
What USA concern is not about Maritime Freedom of Navigation but its Undersea USN Freedom of Navigation?
The continuous intrusion by US military gave China the legitimacy to do so.
So who do you think won the chess game?
Apart from USN, which navy can really challenge PLAN today.

Its not a question of intellect. As a third party observer....China largely controls oil drilling and fishing in most of the South China Sea. It has secured its claims with a large navy and forward island bases. In multiple standoffs other nations have backed down to China.....including Vietnam. In practice and in practical military terms....China already controls most of the area.
