It looks like Harpoon which may have come from Type-21 ships, the indigenous part may be the installation of those systems on PNS Alamgir.

MT ship guided missile is when our half literate and clueless journalist want to say "anti" ship guided missile. And it's not indigenous but rather a harpoon.

. .
neither.... harpoon or indigenous. the c-802 or you can have the exocet which pn is familiar with or you can have a new asm, the rbs-15. why reinvent the wheel when you can just get one.

The tail assembly looks somewhat different and there was news that Pakistan has modified the design.

Albeit old news but it did make ripples at the time.

The tail assembly looks different because of solid rocket booster in the first pic. The old story was about modification to harpoon for LACM role, not about a new anti ship missile. So my bet is it's all a BS story by an incompetent journalist.

After India's smear campaign and US question Pakistan allows to inspect Harpoon stock and after that US confirm no change in missile. I believe Navy does't release new missile video many times in past the announce new missile but never release new video or name / Type.

Pakistan Navy needs to be secret in these things because our defense lies in secrecy. I am sure they can manufacture an ingenious harpoon whenever they want. Just allow them some funds.

The American satellites used to detect ballistic missile launches were replaced with more advanced ones 2006 onwards. These satellites, in addition to detecting ballistic missile launches, can detect missile launches of any type - including cruise missiles and AShMs.

I think what happened was they detected a missile launch from a sea vessel attacking land based targets. They thought we had modified the Harpoons, but when they checked them, all were accounted for.

My guess is that they detected us launching the babur cruise missile from our agostas or from one of our ships. This makes more sense when we see the reports of Pakistan claiming to have second strike capabilities.

Well, US is known to have sent special mission aircraft over Arabian sea to monitor Pakistan's missile tests.
