LAHORE: Minorities Day will be observed across Pakistan on Saturday.

In his message, provincial caretaker Minister for Human Rights and Minorities Chaudhary Faisal Mushtaq has said that the objective of observing this day is to highlight the contributions, services, and sacrifices made by the minority communities in nation-building.

The minister for human rights and minorities pledged to protect the rights of minority communities in Pakistan. It is the responsibility of government to ensure that every Pakistani citizen lives in peace and with dignity, he added.

The provincial minister also said that Quaid’s dream of the country is not based on quantity but rather the quality and equality of citizens. Moreover, he considered religious diversity as a country’s strength.

Faisal Mushtaq said that the government is fully aware and conscious of the fact that a major part of the minority population is less privileged.

“Special and effective measures are needed for the inclusive empowerment of minorities and to mainstream them as responsible and patriotic citizens,” he said.

He further said that the caretaker government has also contributed despite its limitations to make the country a peaceful place of living for the minorities by giving them social rights. He ended by declaring that “we are all proud Pakistanis”.

Minorities although only make 3-5 % of the population , should have religious freedom as Quaid said. Society needs tolerance , which only comes from investing in People , & thats exactly what IK keeps talking about.

.
Aaaaah It seems a new declaration. It should also be celebrate on August 14. This way they will get more coverage. I'm all for the rights of our minorities.

Minorities of Pakistan should be thankful to the majority community.
It is surprising how differently India and Pakistan treat their respective minorities.

Well minorities definitely in Pakistan are treated better than India. But Pakistan has still has a long way to go.

INDIA: NO COUNTRY FOR MUSLIMS

A sense of fear has settled into Muslims of every social class and region, the ever-lurking idea that they are unsafe, that they must adjust to second-class citizenship.

Absolutely yes, in India Muslims specially lives in constant fear of being killed for the slightest of pretext.

A rising tide of hate is surging through India, of toxic speech and attacks on religious minorities, mostly Muslims. A permissive environment that tacitly or openly encourages hate speech and assaults is actively, even aggressively, fostered by the majoritarian anti-minority ideology of the country’s political leadership. Muslims are systematically demonised as sexual predators, as being sympathetic to terrorism and as people who slaughter and eat cow, which is held sacred by many Hindus. Most hate attacks on Muslims are never publicly condemned by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who is otherwise extremely voluble on Twitter and public addresses. This has fostered widespread social legitimisation of anti-Muslim prejudice, hate speech and hate crimes.

Vigilante mobs, who style themselves as cow protectors, lynch people transporting cattle with impunity, visibly supported in many instances by the local police. India Spend, a news data portal, found that 97 per cent of reported hate attacks in the name of the cow since 2010 occurred after Modi was elected to office in 2014. About half the attacks were on Muslims, but 86 per cent of the people killed were Muslims. This means that if vigilante attackers learn that their victim is Muslim, there is a much greater chance that he will be killed. Eight per cent of those killed were from the Dalit community of untouchables.

Lol!!! what an excuse for lynching, reminds me of Mullahs saying here the goats and cows are slaughtered on Eid Azha but their numbers are growing unlike say other carnivorous animals like Tiger, Lions etc.

BTW 200 million plus Muslims in India is too big a community to be lynched in large numbers and still make a population percentile difference. Reminds me of Gujarat massacre...

. .
Wait a moment, are you somehow trying to justify lynching of innocent people? What a sick mentality you must have. Shallow, narrow minded and can't see the wood for the trees!

Bhartis justify raping women and young girls as well, so this shouldn't come as a surprise to you.

As you said out of 200 million minorities,5 -10 cases of lynching dsnt make it a reality and all the involved are/will be punished as per the law.
So your exaggerating reaction on it looks fabricated.

Nope no one is justifying lynching.reread if you don't understand what I wrote.

Minorities day? Naya Chutiyapa.

Virtue signaling at its peak. Pakistan needs to focus on real issues....not some dumb notion of "religious freedom"...Stop copy pasting your political issues from the U.S. Pakistan has entirely different issues.

.
Our nation is nothing without our minorities.

Hum To Sirf Unwaan Thay,
Asl Daastan Tum Ho
Nafraton Kay Darwaazay
Khud Pe Band Hi Rakhna
Is Watan Kay Parcham Ko
SAR BULAND HI RAKHNA
