On the upcoming occasion of July 4th, our independence day, we would like to take a moment to reflect on what Independence Day means to us all. Depending on the nationality, we might celebrate it on different days but the significance of this day is the same for us all. This day has a deeper meaning and impact on a society – beyond its historical significance. Whether in the U.S. or Pakistan, our respective population consists of people from different walks of life - different ethnicities, races, political, religious beliefs, and customs. At any given holiday, one segment of the population might not be celebrating that particular holiday, sometimes not with the same level of enthusiasm. However, on this one day, a country’s Independence Day, the entire population comes together to celebrate their identity on a global scale – their national identity and their love for their country. This day captures the essence of solidarity.

So for our independence day we share with you a short video to celebrate and honor national pride.

A special thought for all those of the american revolutionary army and french royal army men that gave their lives for the independence and the american cause, without their courage, who knows if we could have defeated this powerful british empire ?

The United States wouldn't exist without French patriots like Lafayette. Boston doesn't forget:

image_315.jpg

THE LAFAYETTE MALL
THIS MALL NAMED IN HONOR OF MARQUIS DE LAFAYETTE
DISTINGUISHED FRENCH SOLDIER
MAJOR-GENERAL IN THE WAR OF AMERICAN INDEPENDENCE
AN ILLUSTRIOUS PATRIOT OF THE FRENCH REVOLUTION
WHO NOBLY SERVED THE CAUSE OF LIBERTY ON TWO CONTINENTS
INVITED BY ACT OF CONGRESS TO REVISIT THE UNITED STATES
AS A GUEST OF THE NATION IN 1824
HE WAS WELCOMED WITH SIGNAL HONOR
AS HE PASSED ALONG THIS MALL
HE LAID THE CORNERSTONE OF BUNKER HILL MONUMENT
JUNE 17, 1825
HEAVEN SAW FIT TO ORDAIN THAT THE ELECTRIC
SPARK OF LIBERTY SHOULD BE CONDUCTED THROUGH
YOU FROM THE NEW WORLD TO THE OLD
ERECTED BY THE CITY OF BOSTON 1924

May the United States and France one day enjoy the same sense of fraternity that we did in those fateful days.

.
I wish a very happy and safe 4th to all Americans on the mainland and around the world.
