Bangladesh has asked India to take measures to halt entry of the Rohingyas as Dhaka reported the arrival of some Myanmar nationals in the past weeks.

"We've sent a note verbale," Mashfee Binte Shams, Secretary (East) at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, told UNB today (May 22, 2022).

Earlier on Tuesday, Foreign Minister AK Abdul Momen said a number of Rohingyas are coming to Bangladesh from India through fenced areas in recent times which he described as a matter of worry.

"Unfortunately, many Rohingyas are coming to Bangladesh from India," he said, adding that those Rohingyas went to India in 2012.
Bangladesh is currently hosting over 1.1 million Rohingyas in Cox's Bazar district and Bhasan Char Island.

They are a mixture. Have been living in Burma for very long time. BD is a geographically small country with barely any more space left. By taking in Rohingyas BD it will send wrong signal to the sinister Burmese Junta. Ethnic cleansing has no place in the 21st century.
The Junta is dominated by ethnic Bamar who control a way larger geographical area than their core area. They opress all other minitorities and there are multiple insurgent group because of that.

Modern Burma border line is a remnant of Britsh India. Its artificial. Sounds familiar?

I know, but culturally they are a mixture because of proximity to southern Bengal. Neither bengali or mongoloid. They arent buddhist or animists either. Their language has similarities with Chittagongian. They are natives of Arakan.
