Half of Reactors Under Construction Are in China

Half the reactors under construction in the world are in China. The Chinese already have 26 reactors and are building 27 more. They hope to overtake the U.S. and its 98 reactors by 2030. The Chinese have reverse-engineered the Westinghouse AP1000 and are building their own version. They hope to market it abroad eventually as well and have already entered an agreement with Great Britain to build at Hinckley Point. Russia is also building at home but is making a more aggressive effort to sell its technology abroad. It has agreements to build reactors in India, Turkey, Argentina and several other countries. Korea has a contract to build five reactors in the United Arab Emirates. The U.S. is building four reactors at home but is not making any effort to sell abroad.

You people have no shame in saying we have copied US technology & will sell it to whole world.
it's bloomberg's article and the writer is retarded. chinese reactor is based on french EPR, AP1000 and domestic tech... and all legal based on ToT. any reactor that china building outside will have AREVA taking part in the construction just like the one that they are planning to build in britain.

Great news, look like China is truly becoming a leader in nuclear power technology.

(Ignore the butthurt guy from a certain notorious country.)

First update your knowledge. India has already built indigenous 700 MW uranium reactor & 500 MW thorium reactor. We don't copy like China.
u don't copy? whenever u got any opportunity, ur indian guys copied like crazy, the good example is your notorious pharmaceutical industry, where drug patents are published with formulation for everybody not mental restarted to copy. But can you copy Su30MKI and its engine AL31F? China and India almost at the same time in 1990s bought Su27/30 from Russia , look at now.....Don't tell me you are holy virgin.....u just don't have the very capability that the Chinese have. After all, it is a highly complicated technology not openly clearly published for your guys to copy, isn't it?

BTW, China's nuclear reactor is not COPY, China bought AP1000 from Westinghouse and all re-design and selling are legal under the agreement. Now China export its own nuclear reactors, and your Indian guys? Keep buy buy buy....your new nuclear reactors bidding looks like another piece of meat for Russian bear

Why should we feel shame?strange thought indeed. You should feel ashamed that your country with more than one billion people can not build a reactor by yourself, that is very shameful.
reactors are high tech I don't blame them. But they can't even make ammunition for their tanks.

China is lucky to have a communist govt. No one can oppose the project. Land will be obtained at will. Protesters will disappear, no open media. Well these are the things which are creating a problem in democratic open societies.

Bang on Communist China.

I am surprised that USA had almost 100 nuclear reactors in operation. China, you have ALOT of catching up to do in nuclear power capacity. lol That and your smaller defense budget, which is not even $300 billion yet. Please step it up harder! America is getting bored waiting........
