Dramatic new footage has emerged that shows a Greek pilot flying a Mirage fighter jet and locking onto a Turkish F-16 fighter jet that was violating Greek airspace on Sunday, SKAI reported.

According to the report, the dogfight took place in the Central Aegean at about the same time that two other Turkish F-16’s were harassing a Greek military helicopter that was transporting the Minister of National Defence Nikos Panagiotopoulos and General Konstantinos Floros around the Eastern Aegean islands of Oinousses and Agathonisi.

In the video, you can hear the Greek pilot say to a second pilot that “I have him,” in reference to locking onto the Turkish F-16 jet he was chasing.

The footage shows the Turkish pilot who was violating Greek airspace making a desperate attempt to escape by erratically maneuvering. However, the Greek pilot of the Mirage puts the Turkish F-16 in shooting parameters and locks the opponent.

The dialogue in detail:

The video document uploaded to YouTube shows the following dialogue:

PILOT 1 : FOX 2 (VOLI AIM 2)

PILOT 2: I have him

PILOT 2: The other one is coming.

PILOT 2: I also recorded it on the tape

PILOT 1: Nice

PILOT 2: Stable in GUNS

PILOT 1: SAME

This has become a very usual and normal occurrence for Greek fighter pilots dealing with Turkish jets who violate Greek airspace on a daily basis. However, it is extremely rare for the Greek military to release such footage.

It is likely that the footage was released in response to the Turkish jets who harassed Panagiotopoulos and Floros, as reported by Greek City Times, and serves as a reminder why Greek pilots have won in consecutive years NATO’s “Best Warrior” awards.

Only 6 NATO countries participated in the "NATO Best Warrior" exercise. Italy, being one of the participants, participated with AMX and Tornados (obsolete ground attack aircrafts).

Conclusion: Cheap talk by the Greeks. They can be smartasses again once they have paid their debt to the rest of the EU.

Ah cmon, do you guys really need the confirmation that much?

.
This video misses the part where Turkish F16 has Greek defense minister locked on? Or that video will also be released later?
They were just flying in the areea where his helicopter was during a visit to some island.

. . . . . . .
Greek Airforce counts 125 deaths in 81 incidents since 1990s
We dont need to kill Greek Pilots .. they are killing themselves:)

many Greek pilots died during the dogfight with Turkish F-16s

Greek and Turkish Pilots have great experince for dogfight
because of Greek and Turkish Pilots always in dogfight over the Aegean since 1990s
They do this to each other since 1990s

also Turkish Airforce is well trained for BVR combat ( F-16C + link16 datalink + 120km AIM-120C7 networked air to air missile + Boeing E7-T AEWC )

Greek Mirage-2000s have no chance against Turkish F-16s for BVR combat in a war

even Turkish Airforce trained Pakistani Airforce for BVR combat and Pakistani Airforce shoot down 2 Indian Fighter Jets in BVR combat by 2019

also in 1999 Kosova War , only The US and Turkish Airforces could night strike in NATO
Turkish Airforce had day and night strike capability before than the UK , France , Greece and Germany

Turkish F-16s were the first F-16s outside the USAF to receive LANTIRN pods.
Its first LANTIRN equipped Turkish F-16C Block 40 in February 1994 and total of 158 F-16s were modified to accept LANTIRN ( Low Altitude Navigation and Targeting InfraRed for Night )

also in 1999 Kosova War , Turkish F-16s set a world CAP record by patrolling for 9 hours and 22 minutes above the Balkan theatre. Normally, CAP missions last between 3 and 4 hours

btw if Turkish Pilots wanted then Turkish F-16 would shoot down Greek Fighter Jet
