Anti-racist movements and migrant
communities organized a massive protest march in Piraeus, the port of
the Greek capital, during Friday evening, in response to the tragic
death of 12 refugees off the coast of Farmakonisi almost a month ago.
The protesters demand that the political and criminal responsibilities
be addressed and the stop of the push-backs. Protesters chanted slogans
in Greek and English language, like: "EU - Greece Stop Killing
Refugees!". The protest ended peacefully outside Piraeus Port Authority ,
while the word "killers" was sprayed on the wall by a demonstrator.
Eyewitnesses accuse the Greek Coast Guard of drowning migrants off the coast of the island of Farmakonisi on January 20th, 2014.
