To do or not to do, that is the question. Well it seems like in either case Pakistan is going to lose a lot of money.

So you watch pakistani new channels too? :cheesy:

If it's true(highly unlikely) it's a stupid idea. Its more then half way done and everything is bought. It should be built.

. . . .
When your economy is in bad shape and inflation is going so high i dont think theae type of projext is of any use. The amount can be used for dams. No one dying without abc lines but without water we will.

Pmln priority was looting the country so now people are paying back mistake that they did by choosing pmln.

Well the reports on the progress range from 75% built to 95% built. The problem is that its going to cost the tax payers PKR 120Billion each year to run & maintain including subsidies and loan repayment. The cost has so far been PKR 300Billion. So you are damned if you do and damned if you don't.

You would think such a project would do wonders with our population. I am sure it's nothing that cant be fixed, it just seems mismanaged. Let's not be lazy and shut it down but actully put our minds together and iron it out.

@Hell hound whats going on, just media dramabaaz rumours?
they have already invested too much in the project most of the infrastructure is already there.they are so close that the thing could be operational within few months at max.it's too late to go back now.all of this is just media dramebazi.
closest example that i could give you is rafale deal they can cry all they want hang whoever they want but jets are coming and IAF is going to fly them no matter what

.
Lets see.
1) Penalty of millions per day even though the project is months away from starting.
2) 120bn Pkr loss on the running of the trains yearly.
3)White Elephant. Like the power plants due to capacity charges and abnormal return on investment of above 30% which is not seen anywhere else in the world.
4) Contract details need to be made public, but won't be, cause its part of 'game changer' CPEC.

. .
Important point that pakistanis from lahore can confirm is whether the route of the metro is well chosen?
Will it significantly reduce the load on road transport ?
Does it overlap with the new bus metro which was opened sometime back ? Or does it compliment it ?
Another issue peculiar to Pakistan is power availability. Is cheap power available or supply is sporadic or too expensive ?
Lahorites will like their metro. If its well built and not like the islamabad airport.
