Jamiat Ulema-e Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman on Wednesday said that the current administration is considering to extend the general elections for another year.

The PDM leader blasted Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan while speaking to journalists in the provincial capital of Balochistan, claiming that the latter is to blame for plunging the nation into chaos.

Maulana Fazl cleared the air regarding the likelihood of holding talks with Imran Khan by saying, "Now it is not simple to hold talks with Imran because of his deeds of creating animosity in the country."

Claiming that the PDM-led government saved the country while it was close to default.

Fazl said that the decision to file a no-confidence vote against KP Chief Minister Mahmood Khan, would be made after consulting the provincial parliamentary party.

Fazl wants friendly ties with Europe and US, not slavery

PDM) and JUI-F chief Fazlur Rehman said that he wanted a friendly relationship with the US and Europe instead of their slavery.

Addressing a public gathering in Quetta, Fazl while expressing concerns over Balochistan’s development situation said that despite having rich in minerals and gold the people are being neglected by the political leadership.

Fazl said that global powers interfere in a country’s political and defence matters to bring their favourites into the system, adding that they want friendly relationships with the US and Europe instead of slaveries.

Earlier on Tuesday, the PDM chief called on Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif at PM House in Islamabad.

Sources privy to the matter said that both bigwigs met to discuss the ongoing situation in the aftermath of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) decision to dissolve the Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa assemblies.

During the meeting, PM Shehbaz said that the government is focusing on improving the country’s economic condition and soon the centre will provide relief to the masses.
Taking a shot at deposed Prime Minister Imran Khan, the PDM chief stated that he wants to create chaos in the country by dissolving assemblies.

While both leaders ruled out the PTI chief’s demand for early elections in the country and vowed not to accept any pressure.

Earlier on Monday, the PDM chief during a media talk in Peshawar while highlighting the western hypocrisy over Indian brutal actions said that the US has blind-sided itself from the Indian atrocities in the occupied Kashmir, adding that Our Parliament has supremacy and the right to legislate, no power in the world is allowed to pressurize Pakistan’s interior sovereignty.

Fazl said that they want to be considered equals in relations with the world, adding that Pakistan’s welfare is its top priority in its foreign policy. KPK has been ‘ruined’ and they will make every potential effort to stabilise the economy.

The JUI-F chief while taking a jibe at the deposed premier Imran Khan said that he is trying to hide his failed 10-year plan while ignoring the KP province masses, adding that every decision Khan had taken led to the destruction of the economy

Fazl biggest obstacle to elections, says Sheikh Rashid

Dissolution of the provincial assemblies was the only way out.
08 December,2022 02:17 pm
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – AML chief Sheikh Rashid said on Thursday the PDM was not in a position to go out in public and Fazlur Rehman was the biggest obstacle to elections.

Sheikh Rashid tweeted if dialogue did not help paved the way for elections, dissolution of the provincial assemblies was the only way out. All political parties had ganged up to block Imran Khan’s way, he added.

Mr Rashid said the PDM could not bear the burden of elections as the public was not willing to elect them in future. “Fazlur Rehman is trying hard to stop the elections”, he said.

The AML leader said robust economy was essential for national security. The government, he said, was bent upon creating unrest in the country.

Even as the opposition Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) ratchets up the pressure for holding fresh general elections, the head of the ruling coalition on Wednesday said that general elections should be delayed as they attempt to fix the economy.
Tacitly, he confirmed what has been stated elsewhere by other members of the ruling rainbow coalition that that they need time to regain the favor of the public having spent a fair bit of their political capital in recent months to rescue the flagging economy.
Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) President Maulana Fazlur Rehman was speaking to senior journalists at Sarawan House in Quetta on Wednesday where he welcomed Nawab Aslam Raisani into his Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Fazl (JUI-F) party.

Talking about an ‘extended innings’, he said that general elections should be delayed past the scheduled time, the latest by which is October 2023 as previously suggested by ruling coalition partner, the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N).
On holding dialogue with Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan, Rehman berated him as an unnecessary element of Pakistani politics.
He accused Imran for politically polarizing the military and for pushing the national economy into quicksand.
“When our government took over (in April), the country was on the brink of default and being blacklisted (by Financial Action Task Force (FATF)),” he said, adding that it is only when they looked at the books that they realized just how far close to the edge Imran had pushed the country towards.
Further, he blamed Imran for pursuing a duplicitous agenda by first creating an American cypher conspiracy to gain public sympathy. But with the conspiracy unraveling, he and his his party now does everything it can to avoid talking about it or issuing an anti-American statement.
“Now the wind has been let out of his balloon of popularity,” he said.
Rehman noted that Imran uses public speeches to attack individuals and institutions to black mail them.
“He is threatening to dissolve the assemblies by December 16, but that date is quite painful for people who are from the Niazi clan,” he said
“You can’t hold negotiations with someone who has a non-political and anarchic mind,” he said.

IMF & economic troubles

Rehman said that even though they have staved off falling into the blacklist of the FATF and instead exited the gray list to join the whitelist, the International Monetary Fund (IMF) was delaying the next tranche of their loan.
“Now who is oppressing us?” he said, adding that they were being pushed into a corner with one arm tied behind their back.
Attempting to translate the gravity of the country’s economic situation, Rehman said that such was the country’s condition that try as they might to rectify the situation, they found themselves getting dragged deeper in the quicksand of economic ruin.
“To save the national economy, we need to implement long-term projects,” he said.
Reiterating that the ruling coalition is fully focused on improving the national economy, he said that they will also push ahead with the agenda of implementing an Islamic system of banking in the country.
In this regard, the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) and National Bank have both withdrawn their appeals against the system’s implementation from the Supreme Court

Govt in Balochistan

Predicting a win for his party in Balochistan after the next general elections in the province, the JUI-F chief said that their government will reflect the will of the people.
