KARACHI: Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari has said that the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government seems totally clueless about economy.

“This government has no sense of direction when it comes to the economy. Those who claimed they will break the begging bowl are now asking for the biggest loan in Pakistan’s history,” said Bilawal in a statement on Saturday while reacting to the government’s announcement of approaching the International Monetary Fund (IMF).

He said the country was facing a worst economic crisis when the PPP came to power in 2008 but “we still managed to keep the inflation rate low as we do not believe in burdening the poor”.

Bilawal slammed the incumbent government, saying it had given the public nothing but price hike. “Those who claimed they would give relief to the nation are actually snatching away the rights of the poor,” he said.

He said when the PPP was in government, oil prices in the international market were at $148 per barrel, “but we did not increase the prices” in the country.

“It is apparent that the ‘PM Select’ has done no homework,” said Bilawal, adding that the incumbent government’s policies could lead to an economic meltdown as inflation rates were feared to rise to 14%.

“Imran Khan’s Naya Pakistan is turning out to be a nightmare for the people of Pakistan,” he said. “This government has promised to build five million homes but it seems as if they will take everything away from the poor.”

You can question bilawal bhutuu qualification or can question performance of PPP in Sindh which is no doubt poor but what he said about PTI and their economic approach is right.. Lack of serious policy-making and constant confusion over IMF bail out has been their course of action( since PTI has won election and nominated asad umar as shadow finance minister) which has left the stock market, industrialists and economists puzzled over the belated policy action. Mind you even if you get loans and economic package from IMF and others countries then it will still not solve long term economic issues

Well change should also come from his part...or he can give away Karachi and Sindh then SEE change! Change none of his ancestors and descendants (not sure if that exists but anyway) would be able to bring!

To be honest they are in opposition and its their job to point out and criticise the failure of running government
You should be grateful to them that they are not doing dharna in redzone to divert the attention of Government from vital issues .. remember Chinese president postponed his visit when Imran was doing fasadi politics on street of major cities....opposition is giving them time so that they kill themselves

I did not get . I am not fans of 2 number molvizz who even struggle to control their tongues. I want current government to take tough action and arrest these Rizvi and afazal qadri under treason and inciting violence
