Government to double the WHT on foreign first class travel

Government is considering increasing tax rate on the provision of professional services (Doctors,Chartered Accountants,Architectures,Lawyers,Dentists,Interior Decorators etc.) from 6% to 10%. Furthermore, it has also been proposed to double the withholding tax (adjustable) from 5% to 10% on foreign first class and business air travel. No tax will be levied on economy class. Government will also withdraw hundreds of SROs and vesting authority to issue any SRO solely to parliament. No tax increase has been proposed on essential consumables (Vegitables, Ghee,Cooking Oil, Medicine etc)
