I'm shocked. GoPro has announced it is quitting the drone business. We were supposed to see the GoPro Karma 2 drone compete against the DJI Mavic Pro Platinum.

GoPro just gave up without a fight. It came out of the blue.

GoPro should have a built-in user base for the Karma drone from the large number of GoPro buyers. That's what the financial analysts said in their reports. What in the heck happened?

GoPro Plunges After Announcing Job Cuts, Revenue Miss | Bloomberg (January 8, 2018)

"GoPro’s Karma drone was supposed to help turn around the business when it was launched in September 2016. Instead, it’s been plagued by problems from production delays to a recall of 2,500 units due to a battery issue. The Karma also had to go up against China’s SZ DJI Technology Co., the biggest drone-maker in the world. GoPro said low margins and a hostile regulatory market in Europe and the U.S. makes the drone market 'untenable.' [GoPro] will exit the market after selling its remaining inventory and continue to service existing drones." (fourth paragraph from the bottom of the Bloomberg article)

Ironically, the Clinton administration was extremely harsh with China, they didn't even open the door of the WTO, and China did join the WTO under the Bush administration. And the Obama administration wanted to again bar China with the new TPP rules, because the WTO had already been leveraged by China.

It is funny to see that the far right white supremacists are always accusing both Clinton and Obama being sold their country down the river.

The Bush administration had already inadvertently made China great again, and I am pretty sure that the Trump administration would also follow suit.

I think they could not stand the competition and DJI's innovation and creativity has helped their drone business go down the tube.

This is what happens when the competition field is fair. Now anticipate more market restrictions and sanctions by the US regime, in their fruitless effort to stem the rise of China.

This is after (and despite) all the concerted China-bashing and China-hating efforts by the US regime, regime-friendly media and the lackeys.

The regular/standard procedure that every bad and dishonored loser follows as they are beaten down up and down in competition.

The West tried to cripple China with onerous restrictions inside the WTO yet China still survived and thrived. Other Western firms await GoPro's karma.

Because under the governance of the CPC, China's resilience is beyond anyone's imagination. That's why we were capable to turn all the death traps set inside the WTO into our leverage.

No other great powers in the history, in its rising phase, has experienced the same difficulty as the PRC did.

The more difficulty you managed to overcome, the stronger you become.

The regular/standard procedure that every bad and dishonored loser follows as they are beaten down up and down in competition.

Those losers always tend to blame everyone else, but never themselves.

When China lost, we always tended to first look at ourselves instead of pointing finger at others.

Definitely! If the US were subject to similar difficulties in its fast development phase, they would be a large copy of Detroit today.

However, again as you say, difficulties, if treated well, can be assets. They harden the nation's immune system and, under smart and historical leadership, provide guideline when similar problems arise.

Development is an act of destruction. Explosive development is an act of explosive destruction. Most governments will not have the required political courage and capital to assume the very unpopular job. Hence, most end up SP12. Dreaming and putting off existing problems.

If DJI is now able to beat down foreign competition, a significant portion of the credit goes not to venture capital, but to the government of China.

CPC develops China rapidly, but also wisely.
