Been hearing this news for a year now. JF-17 is a very new aircraft, and even for the Pakistan, which is its sole operator, the aircraft is not in its final stages, so any country serious about buying this aircraft would wait, and let it mature, evaluate its capabilities, and then order.
That is 3-4 years away. Expecting orders now is a little premature.
the increase in production rate was indicative of ongoing successful sales talks
--who said talks will be completed in 1 day?
-- who said we will manufacture there fighters right away?
-- the aircraft is not in its final stages?-- did this stop the sale of f16
blk15?
-- mature?evaluate its capabilities? --- seriously??? the fighter is being used actively in the war against terrorism-- how many fighters can boast that?
-- some countries might not NEED/AFFORD complex avionics and composits anyway
-- how many fighters are there in the light fighter class, to choose from?
-- how many of these manufacturers are willing to sell to different countries?
-- jf17 is probably the only fighter built by an airforce -- keeping its requirements in perspective--- so the 'evaluation' of jf17 started from the day of its inception
first we will fullfill our own requirements which might take 2-3 years , considering concurrent production in both china and pak. im not considering the possibility of simultaneous production in a third country at the moment
these countries are getting in line---on first come, first serve basis
