Good news: India to surpass China in innovation competitiveness, predicts BRICS report
BRICS summit 2017: India is expected to surpass China in innovation competitiveness between 2025-2030, BRICS Innovative Competitive Report 2017 released by China Science and Technology Exchange Center said today. The report observed, “The average score of innovation index of each BRICS country would be on the rise for 2017-2025 as the overall national innovation competitiveness of BRICS countries would be constantly strengthened over time. It is predicted that the innovation competitiveness of India would see a significant rise with its growth rate probably surpassing China between 2025-2030.”

The report predicts that growth rate of Russia would also fall in coming years and India would take over Russia in terms of its comprehensive STI competitiveness by 2030. At present, China is the leading BRICS nation in innovation competitiveness.

The report says that BRICS countries have evolved as leading centres of Science and Technology development among developing countries. These countries- Brazil, Russia, China, India and South Africa – have also become a “globally important STI force”. The report comes as a huge confidence booster for Indian government’s efforts at improving the innovation environment in the recent years.

The report notes: “international community lacks an in-depth strategic study on international collaboration among BRICS countries. It is urgent to set up a regular network for technology collaboration and transfer as both the governments and a regularly organized conference on technology transfer could no longer satisfy the needs for the transfer and flow of technology, funding, and talents under new circumstances.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will attend BRICS Summit in China next month. “At the invitation of the President of People’s Republic of China, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi will visit Xiamen in China’s Fujian province during September 3-5, 2017, to attend the 9th BRICS Summit,” India’s External Affairs Ministry said in a statement.

Last BRICS Summit was held in Goa.

Highly UN-likely. until & otherwise research remain with govt. depts. in main key areas like Defence, infra, space science we remain slow elephant. India need to copy Chinese model with help of Japan.

India will be leader in Fin Tech platforms but core areas remain sulking.

LMAO.
I have read the entire report, the report ranked India worse than South Africa

Another predition, When can India make some progress which is tangible and can be seen by the world.
The original report talks about growth rate.

It is predicted that the innovation competitiveness of India would see a significant rise with its growth rate probably surpassing China between 2025-2030; the growth rate of Russia would fall and India would take over Russia in terms of its comprehensive STI competitiveness by 2030 .

India media is indeed very innovative on twisting words as usual....

For chinese trolls every prediction which is good about others is imposible because china is great in innovation (Yes, Great in CLTR+V). But for them copy is innovation where the whole world has a different conceptions of innovation. That is why chinese believe that they are No 1 in innovation.

However the facts are here:

"India has been ranked as the No. 1 innovation destination in Asia and No. 2 in the world for new innovation centres," the report said.

Bangalore: India topped as innovation destination in Asia, according to the ‘Spread of Innovation Around the World: How Asia Now Rivals Silicon Valley as New Home to Global Innovation Centres’ report, by Capgemini Consulting’s Digital Transformation Institute in collaboration withFahrenheit 212, part of the Capgemini Group and in partnership with Brian Solis of Altimeter, a Prophet company.

Still chinese believe that they are No 1. Their cities are ahead of Bengaluru and Hyderabad.

Now they can say that these global agencies either pupet of India or bribed by India to publish these fake reports.

BEIJING, Aug. 29 (Xinhua) -- BRICS countries are a major force in science and technology development in developing countries, according to a 2017 BRICS innovative competitiveness report released Tuesday.

The report said that annual investment in research and development from BRICS countries accounted for 17 percent of the world's total.

Their high-tech exports have reached nearly 6 trillion U.S. dollars, or about 28 percent of the world's total, with publications of science papers from BRICS countries totaling 590,000, according to the report.

It predicted that the innovative competitiveness of BRICS countries would rise in the next five years, with China and Russia taking the lead.

"We not only evaluated BRICS countries' innovative competitiveness, but also analyzed problems that hinder scientific cooperation and made suggestions," said Zhao Xinli, one of the chief editors.

Led by the China Science and Technology Exchange Center and written by over 40 researchers worldwide, the report also contains study on digital and agricultural technology in Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa.

Yes, indians are the most innovative people, I agree.
You have the highest IQ and PISA results.
You have the most nobel prize winners, most Nature papers, most top100 universities.
You have global innovative companies like DJI and Microsoft.
You have the cleanest cities like Mumbai and Hyderabad.
You have the biggest Fin tech platforms in the world.
You have the biggest new-energy vehicle companies.
You rank the first in quantum technology and AI.

I know India is inconsequential upon this "innovation" thingy.

A nation that spends paltry .85 % of its GDP on its R&D, the less said the better.

.
Congrats to India for another achievement. India is set to be #1, again. Wait till to tomorrow for another round of bragging, I mean, announcements.

India is set to.......

.
Media is sold out to Modi and his money, along with Modi's coercion.

You are totally wrong sir, 0.85% of GDP spending means the biggest innovation destination in the world.
Because PPP will multiply 0.85% by verdic index.

The rest of the world can never surpass india's innovation and R&D expenditure....
How sad we!
