Girl student hacked by BCL activist on life support

Khadija, a college student who was hacked by a Bangladesh Chhatra League (Awami League terrorists wing operate under student banner) leader in Sylhet, is on life support in a critical condition at Square hospital in the capital.
A duty doctor at the hospital on Tuesday told Prothom Alo that the victim is in critical condition. There are hack wounds all over her body. Her head injury is very serious and she was taken for a second surgery, he said.
On Monday evening, Khadija Akter Nargis, 23, a student of Sylhet Government Mohila College and daughter of Masuk Miah, a resident of Hausa village in Sadar upazila, was stopped on her way to home from college by Badrul Alam, 30, assistant secretary of SUST unit of BCL, reports news agency UNB.
At one stage, Badrul, son of Saidur Rahman, a resident of Manirgati village in Chhatak upazila of Sunamganj district, hacked Khadija indiscriminately, leaving her critically injured, said ADC of Sylhet Metropolitan of Police (SMP) Zidan Al Musa.
Locals rescued Khadija and caught Badrul from the spot and beat him severely.
Later, they handed him over to police.
Khadija was rushed to Sylhet Osmani Medical College Hospital from where she was referred to Dhaka around 12:10am on Tuesday as her condition deteriorated.
Later, she was shifted to Square Hospital.
Badrul was also admitted to Sylhet Osmani Medical College Hospital under police custody.
The victim’s family said Badrul used to live at the victim’s family residence as a lodging tutor.
He proposed her, but the victim rejected him.
Sylhet metropolitan police station officer-in-charge Shahjalal Munsi said Badrul confessed to attacking Khadija.
He said he attacked Khadija out of their relationship frustration, the OC added.
